i know this has been beaten to death, but -

you have 2 weeks to prepare for your biggest rival.
you have lost your previous 2 games.
you have lost your previous 2 games to your biggest rival.
your job is on the line, its really a must win game to stay in contention in the east

and you come out and defer, and allow 335 yards of total offense. go down 23-3.
its not like georgia runs some complicated offense, pretty vanilla when it comes to scheme. play actions, single back sets, they get the ball in thier play makers hands.

is muchamp's biggest problem he doesn't know how to motivate these kids properly?

There's no motivation because this team no longer believes in itself. That's on Muschamp. The team mailed it in during the LSU game and has been MIA until UGA's thugs started challenging their manhood and they responded out of pride. Good for them. But there's still a void of leadership. If those thugs don't turn it into a street fight, I have no doubt we get blown out.

If you as coach cannot bring yourself to hate UGA as much as we fans do, then you dont belong...Should of never hired a UGA Alum in the first place...I will never believe this coach will win us any titles

UGA also had two weeks to prepare...... you realize that, right?

    Plus more talent.

Murray and Gurley > Murphy and (insert UF back of choice here)

When your most talented position group is your d-backfield you are in trouble against any above average competition, period. The proof is in the pudding.

When did Murphy switch to D? You honestly think that UGA offense, decimated by injuries has more talent than our D? They had former walkons taking it to our vaunted secondary.

Was making the point that UG has more talent at the most impactful positions on the field. Was exaggerating for effect.

From my vantage point (TV), the only thing the Gators responded to was the fumbled lateral that Orr had the presence of mind to pick up. That seemed to ignite the Gators for a while. It was a fluke break, thanks to that dimwit Lynch, otherwise the game would not have been close (scorewise) at all.

i left out the part, that we were going against a terrible defense! but still only score 3 points.

to add, how about being down 23-3, we get the ball with 8 minutes left on the clock in the 2nd quarter, run an offense as if we are up 50 points! we used 6 minutes and 19 seconds of clock to go 49 yards and then turn the ball over on downs. joke

The damage was done in Q1. The remainder of the game, except for the last UGA drive (where they made three first downs that were so close they were decided by the spot of the line judge), the defense played great, holding them to 140 yards. It was another great job of adjusting by the coaches & great execution by the players.

Arkansas, Miami, LSU, Missouri, now UGA all dominated us in the first quarter. Its becoming a trend. Even last year aTm was thrashing us. Even UT was moving up and down the field on us. We all know how hot Louisville was to start the game. They buried us before we knew what happened.

Face it, our defense is just not that great especially without Easley.

Actually thought the offensive game plan was pretty good. Tyler at least had time to throw the football. They threw a bomb the first series Dunbar just didnt get in the endzone

The defense was motivated there were just some bad play calls at the beginning of the game. Bad start and that is the staff fault no doubt. But it didnt seem like a lack of motivation.

    agree, damage was done.
thats my point, great job adjusting at half, but to beat a dead horse, what the heck did we do for 2 weeks preparing for the dawgs! when you have an offense as bad as ours, you can't continually rely on 2nd half adjustments to win games.

But why does it take almost a full half for them to make those adjustments? We were really fortunate the score was just 23-3 and not worse.

UF basically has elite defensive coaches in WM & Lawing. Based on history, the norm for them is to have a great defense, so things will get better.

The problem I see is that the linebacker calling defensive plays/alignments seems to cause a lot of confusion in the defense. Maybe he takes awhile to get into the flow of the game & settle down with his calls.

His teams have also lead the league for 3 years in Stupid Penalties.

Like the early one on Soloman Patton that led to the Deflation of Gator Egos and the increase of Bulldog Egos after the 83 yard pass and the Idiotic one against Neiron Ball in the 4th quarter after stopping Gurley twice that let Ga go on to run out the Clock.

That is Totally on the Head Ball Coach, and reflects either raw stupidity or an underlying lack of discipline that is simply inexcusable at this level.

People had the same complaints about Meyer, i.e that he didn't have control of the team, that we had too many stupid penalties, etc. IIRC complaints about Spurrier as well, which were attributed to & compensated for by his high-flying offense. Here is the reality regarding how penalties stack up.

    First three years: Meyer - 113, Muschamp - 103
    Total: Meyer - 96, Muschamp - 103

    2004 - 111
    2005 - 109
    2006 - 118
    2007 - 94
    2008 - 96
    2009 - 61
    2010 - 85
    2011 - 89
    2012 - 105
    2013 - 114

lol they were without a lot of talent yesterday and were ranked 101st in defense.

If you're going use the injury excuse, you have to also give the poodles the same excuse

Georgia had like 2 kind of healthy receivers and one gimpy out of shape running back and still did that to us. That was the most shameful part.
