The question is ...Do we believe him?

If he's projected by some to be the No.1 overall NFL draft pick next year, why would he stay longer unless he particularly loves college life in Tallahasse?

Colour me skeptical - I don't find this a creditable quote at all. There's no way a degree from FSU could be worth more to him than what he'd make as the No.1 overall NFL draft pick, or baseball, if that was the route he chooses. Am I missing something obvious here?

I agree. He's unlikely to stay.

Probably saying this to help with this recruiting class.

Might be hoping to convince his victim that any potential big payday is more than two years away, if they go thru with the civil suit instead of accepting a settlement.

I'm sure he will weigh what he is being paid now and the crimes he commits that the TPD ignore vs what he could make in the NFL and the police departments he might run afoul of.

I remember our rivals saying there was no way Tim would stay four years.

I think we know where this stems from.

Now, he may well leave but it's very rare to announce how long you'll stay. Usually players just duck the question.

We got two five-start QBs directly after Tebow won the Heisman. The odds that he'd be there two more years were pretty high.

Winning = players wanting to go to your school.

That may very well be true. But I think their season will play a bigger part in that than Winston staying two more years. A great QB, that knows he can start as a freshman, (not that they grow on trees) might think twice about having to wait two or three more years to start at UFS.

Prince didn't want to wait to play. Yes... I know he's not a QB, but it still applies.

... or any other top flight program.

True freshman starters are a rarity in college football.

The biggest difference is Tebow wasn't projected to be a 1st rounder, let alone top 5 pick so theres a huge difference IMO.

Projections varied quite a bit and by the time he was drafted he was considered a late 1st / early 2nd.

I honestly don't think it changes the dynamic much though.

I can't see Winston staying past 2014 unless his Baseball career looks more likely than football... Bet he gets drafted (baseball) this year by someone!
Their 2014 class included one "Pro Style" QB from Pittsburg area, who only got other offers from Temple & Akron... not that highly recruited IMO. But when the TPD let you get away with criminal activity, there will be a draw for some!

I would hate to see him in Gainseville again. First we need to take care of learning to pass the ball and score more than 3 pts. Show me! As for Jamesis, he is in a long line of FSU football players that have got in trouble, usually first round draft choices, Peter Warrick, the Polish kicker, deon.the TPD plays their part. Our jealousy is showing
