Ironic you talk about assuming things. I didn't say I don't read about it once I hear about it, I said I don't actively watch the news. So if I hear about it on here or from a friend, I will go out read about things and sometimes follow them if I'm really interested.

Im sorry that I don't fall into the line of thinking around here. I don't spend my life watching news through biased sources who only want to push out their own agenda.

Its sad I have to explain things like I'm talking to children... to people who supposedly have degrees.

Just because I don't actively watch the news, doesn't mean I don't follow along when I see something interesting.

You apparently don't watch Anderson Cooper. When these things happen, he spends as much time as he can interviewing victims' families, asking them questions like how does it feel, how do you deal with it, how do you get through the day, milking as much grief and tears from them as he can for the camera. Anderson Cooper makes me want to puke.

you obviously know nothing about how the media covers shootings. It's not 'oh, by the way, some children died.'
And you obviously know nothing about the audience. The first question is always 'Who did it and why ..." The fact that the media covers that does not make them vultures.

I feel sorry for you river, I really do. To be so deep up the governments and medias backside must suck. I just have to ask, how do you have so much trust in two entities that have shown they do nothing but lie and deceive us all?

I highly doubt the issue is how the media covers such events. I do think the media tends to sensationalize and bend events like this to fit their agendas...but it is not a reason IMHO.
I think the problem lies with a society that has too many single parent homes, too many children raising children. A society that thinks there is nothing wrong with children playing rated M video games. A society that loves it's slasher, gore filled movies. I think the issues lie in a society that oks aberrant behavior due to the fear of hurting someone's feelings. IF a kid shows tendencies to act out we give them a pill, or give them a counselor.
    Just mho

    update to story

student shoots and kills teacher hits two others, kills self.

my assumption earlier was the two dead were both adults. The way it was written "two people dead two boys injured"

    so no love spat here.

Another sad event in the world. Too many 12 and 13 year old's with no comprehension on the gift of life, going around shooting and harming others, committing suicide, and other completely senseless acts.

And of course, the grown-ups are too busy slinging political mud at each other to notice.
