This years team was not only good basketball players, but they also excelled in the class room. Eight members of the team made the SEC academic honor roll. Well done guys. BTW that is a SEC record.

We should concentrate more on this sport for both men & women's program for just this very reason.
It's much easier to recruit 10-15 or so quality people who are both great players and student-athletes.

Sweet. Thanks for the link. I had no idea Frazier was majoring in telecom. It isn't engineering, but it isn't easy, by any stretch.

Be careful. The Bat Sign just went up over Lexington and the posse will show up soon to remind us that John Wall had a 3.3.

Kentucky did have five on the honor roll. One of them is even on scholarship.

    Tod Lanter - M Basketball - Marketing
    Brian Long - M Basketball - Communication
    Sam Malone - M Basketball - Marketing
    Jarrod Polson - M Basketball - Finance/Marketing
    Alex Poythress - M Basketball - Accounting

Well, I must admit, this one is really impressive.

And just how many Kentucky players made the Honor Roll?

I'm willing to compare and contrast rosters at any point... if that's what you're attempting here.

Well if you're not sure what he's attempting here how are you able to pull off the roster comparisons?

To me it seems that if you are in the one and done business, then you don't need academic counselors, tutors and the like. This seems to be an economic benefit to the teams that live and die by this strategy and a benefit to the coach because one he just has to recruit! think shortcuts to success. The other benefit is to the players themselves, because every university has enough crip courses together through the first year without much hard work. If every team in div 1 men's basketball took this approach, it wouldn't be called college basketball anymore, just the developmental league.

He is using those skills to figure out how much money he will lose every passing year as he sits behind freshman starters.

I'm usually one to pile it on Kentucky whenever possible but good for Poythress getting a real degree. I'm impressed.

Oh, I agree. Good kid. Terrible coach, though.
