Manatee won 28-24, unbelievable game. Manatee switched to the up tempo offense late in the 3rd quarter and just flat out wore all those D1 prospects out.

It was simply a case where superior coaching and superior line play beats superior tallent. U School had so many D1 athletes on the field Manatee's speedsters were getting beat. In the 3rd quarter the combination of pounding the ball right at them and going to the hurry up offense wore all that tallent down. Our boy Quincy Wilson became a non factor due to the running game of Manatee. FSU comit Demarcus Christmas dominated the defensive line for Manatee, he was a one man wrecking crew.

Manatee is just too good again. That defense, and that young offense are in another league. Where I'm from, Venice, they were up I think 21-7 or 28-7 at one point and manatee came back and just throttled them like 49-35 in the end. They have a team that does not quit with lots of talent.

Sounds like our Gator team last year.

Actually in that Venice game Manatee was down 14-0 with 2 minutes left in the first half and won 35-14. They are for sure a 2nd half team partly due to Coach Kinnans philosophy of not playing guys both ways which is pretty rare in high school football. I think Kinnan has proved over the years that philosophy works if you have the horses to do it and the guts to stick to it. I am sure when you watch your guys getting beat up by superior athletes it has to be tempting to play your studs both ways. At least it has worked for him.
