river I cannot believe you asked me that question- I interpret your comment to say you are a fan of communism- if W had made that comment my reaction would have been the same- of course W loves this country-prezBO doesn't

Sort of like the Russians and the Chinese.

Well, you have to give that one to Nixon (and Kissinger).

Yes, folks, it's come to this. Pointing out that what Obama said is 100 percent, undeniably accurate is now considered 'deflecting.'

Sounds like a similar rate on the how the IRS as doing audits on groups applying for tax exempt status. 72% of the applicants were from conservative organizations.

Have you ever considered that Ho was a hypocrite to the highest degree?

You should research Jefferson more. You may be surprised by what you find.

And? I don't see where Obama attempted to analyze the man's entire life. He simply said Ho was inspired by Jefferson and the Declaration. Given that he quoted it in his own country's declaration, that's pretty hard to deny.

Jefferson helped establish the greatest nation ever in the history of the world. What great things did Ho accomplish? Or Hussein for that matter?

The Vietnam War was a cluster $&@- from the beginning. The Pentagon Papers document that statement very well. Unfortunately over a estimated people were killed. That fact by itself does not lessen or minimize the fact that several hundred thousands were killed under Ho's government and uncountable thousands were killed by his North Vietnamese and Viet Cong troops. Also, lets not forget about be tens of thousand that were killed by his successors after the fall of South Vietnam.

Here is a link to estimated deaths after the fall of Saigon.

you do understand the difference between "was inspired by" and "did everything exactly the same as", right?
because they're not really the same thing.

And how did his praise for them affect the development of the United States? On the other hand, how did Ho's supposed inspiration from Jefferson affect citizens of Viet Nam?

I have no idea how Jefferson's sympathy with the French Revolution affected US history, unless you want to suggest that the Louisiana Purchase was facilitated by it. As for Ho, he did quote the DoI when proclaiming Vietnam independent of France.

ignoring the infantile insult, think about the absurdity of your claim: That Ho couldn't have been inspired by the Declaration of Independence because he did different stuff than Jefferson.
Does that mean if you said Thoreau's writing inspired you, you'd be a liar unless you went to live at Walden Pond?
