Trying hard to make the not guilty verdict into something else, and keep non-issues alive.
The community organizer just can't help himself. But, it does offer some political convenience to distract from the other glaring abject failures, coverups and misdeeds of this very un-American administration. What a pitiful and ironic moment in our nation's history...George Zimmerman might be more innocent than our President.
I didn't try to find out what he said when I first commented here but I ran by it anyway randomly. I can't believe that now this empty suit is going to go on national TV and pull the race card...
He is our worst president ever and its really not even close anymore.
Thoughtful comments by one by one of our best and most intelligent presidents. Reminds of his excellent and compelling - but scripted - Philadelphia speech on race during the 2008 campaign. His emphasis on inclusiveness is heartfelt since he lived partly as an outsider growing up.
The most incredibly laughable post in Too Hot in the past decade. "One of our best and most intelligent presidents" There is no way on God's green earth, that can be taken as a serious comment. Absolutely no way.
Which leads to the vastly more important question Row...what is the color of the sky in YOUR world?
Yes this administration is fully aware this country is utterly fascinated with apparent white on black oppression and will make sure even Fox News is packed to the gills with this topic for as long as possible.
That has to be tongue in cheek to see how many laughs he could get. No serious poster on this board could make that comment with a straight face.
On the eve of the profiteer-organized "protests" over the jury verdict, this . . . guy . . . stokes the fires of division with diversion.
He must think he was elected only by Hispanics and Blacks.
Obama speaks, conservatives shriek
Color me unsurprised
He speaks about a case involving an AA and a Latino, and conservative whites act like he is pointing the finger directly at them
Victim complex anyone?
Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, the parents of Trayvon Martin, said in the opening paragraphs of a statement:
"We are deeply honored and moved that President Obama took the time to speak publicly and at length about our son, Trayvon. The president’s comments give us great strength at this time. We are thankful for President Obama’s and Michelle’s prayers, and we ask for your prayers as well as we continue to move forward.
We know that the death of our son Trayvon, the trial and the not guilty verdict have been deeply painful and difficult for many people. We know our family has become a conduit for people to talk about race in America and to try and talk about the difficult issues that we need to bring into the light in order to become a better people."
Maybe the white folk recognize that they are exactly who he is pointing the finger at.
Unless, of course, you think PresiBombed is limiting his comments to Hispanics who profile Black folk.
Among those who praised Mr. Obama’s remarks was Robert Zimmerman Jr., the brother of George Zimmerman, who was tried and found not guilty in the shooting death of Mr. Martin because the jury believed he was acting in self-defense.
“I’m glad he spoke out today,” Mr. Zimmerman said in an interview on Fox News. “And no matter what your opinion of the verdict is, there have to be things that bring us together. There have to be teachable moments that we learn from what happened here.”
He also posted on Twitter: .Pres @BarackObama spoke abt encouraging America's youth. Encouraging our youth is the key to improving our America. Let's do ALL we can.
Of course the President didn't point a finger at anyone in his speech, which was typically intelligent, thoughtful, truthful, and inclusive of all Americans. The only people who could listen to his comments and get angry are disturbed or maybe nasty drinks.
President is a jerk, and a dolt.
By the way, don't you mean "White/Hispanic"? Oh but you're right, mean ol' whitey is keeping us down... Victim complex anyone?
It is ironic that the once proud "pull up your bootstrap conservatives" now cry like teenage girls under the Obama presidency
And just so you know, Obama is mixed white and black, and you guys don't particularly identify with him
when blacks protested against what they felt was unjust, conservative whites quickly picked up the oppositional role to defend
Please refrain from lumping me in as "you guys" because I don't get my marching orders from a corrupt government entity. Theres this novel idea of thinking for yourself and having your own opinion on the issues in this country.
There goes that victim complex again. How dare those mean old white oppressors defend themselves when blacks try to blame all their problems on them or when they want to be all hypocritical when there is one white guy... (oops hispanic... dammit.. I mean "White/hispanic" yea, thats it.. ) who had to use deadly force on a black teen when they don't really care about black teen deaths.
If they really cared, they would look at Chicago and be outraged at the black on black crime going on there. 54 people were murdered in Chicago during the TM case. 30% of those were kids under the age of 19. But the black people and our empty suit "President" wants to play the race card and make this a political issue while ignoring REAL problems.
The next time this "President" says or does something productive it will be his first. What a disgrace to this country.
It is truly amazing just how far up Hussein's ass some people keep their heads in adoration. Defending the Jackass on every move, word, and thought....and never one time acknowledging his glaring faults.
Typical that many of the right wing posts have nothing to do with the thread. Any thread is just another excuse for them to spout the laundry list of perceived wrongs and deranged curses aimed at he who has them hurting and hating to the point of obsession. Amusing in a pathetic sort of way.
