Same as it ever was. He doesn't know enough about statistics to engage with your level of criticism of the paper, eyes just glaze over and assumes you must just be biased against the author or the subject. Almost like projection is a real thing.

Knows that data is important and useful, but doesn't know how to use it, so namedrops "THE DATA" whenever possible, but never provides actual data supporting his claims. In the early days he did post data a few times, but it always said the opposite of what he wanted to be true, so he hasn't even tried in years.

Yet still absolutely convinced he is correct and no one else understands the issue well enough to see how correct he is.
