I have to admit I had forgotten there was a network called truTV. Don't know if I ever watched anything on it or not. So when I saw that the Gator game was on TruTV I had to see if I got that on my cable. Fortunately I do.

The reason that the computer feed is adequate, is because EVERY TV on the market today or purchased in the past 4-5 years can hook to a laptop. The stream is actually very clear here. I get the game on DirecTV, but if not, I'd just tether my laptop or tablet to my TV and not miss a beat. I did it for our ESPN3 games this season. I did it for Football games back when they streamed on Yahoo.
5 years from now, TV and computers will not be separate entities. (Heck, that's probably even a very conservative time estimate.)
If the announcers get annoying, I'll just stream Mick through the TuneIn app.
Embrace the technology people!

Had to search for it but Channel 1291 (in HD) on BrightHouse in Pinellas (and I get it)!

The big difference between Dish and DirecTV is that DirecTV shows ESPNU in HD and Dish does not.
Most cable companies have a "franchise" which is a monopoly. I am the mayor of a small town and our cable franchise is up next month. I called a bunch of other cable companies and no one wanted to offer a franchise bid. So I suppose it is the cable company that get in on the ground floor that gets to keep it. Every city gets a good chunck of change from cable companies.
Bengerman, the only deal is the locals. Make sure you get them and that they are in HD. Both Dish and DirecTV gives you this information but as Gainesville is a small market it is worth exploring. Also a small antenna will allow the locals feeds through the Dish and DirecTV receivers but the biggest problem is the schedules. The best part about Dish and DirecTV is the quality of the picture and the time shifting you get on the movie channels as you get the east and west feeds.

Thanks for the help, Beh. I'm definitely going to take it into consideration.

Last years online streams use to be a few seconds ahead of the broadcast streams. This year it seems to be at least a 5 minutes behind (maybe even longer).
These streams are absolutely no use to people who bet LIVE in game.

My stream has been slightly ahead of the TV feed. I think geography has a lot to do with it.
You bet LIVE ...in game? Whatever happened to picking a winner before the game, and holding your breath?

I noticed that the stats were often a minute ahead of the video during the Wisconsin/Ole Miss game today.
Of course i was taking careful notes as part of a research paper.

NCAA website says that you can't watch it on their website if it si broadcast on TruTV. But in their FAQ's, they say that you get four free hours of viewing if it is on Tru TV, and that games broadcast on CBS don't count against your hours. So I am saving up my four hours until tonight to use during the Gator game.

I have to wonder if CBS is doing this just because ABC/ESPN has hooked up with the SEC.

The problem with the ncaa.com streams is that you only get to watch 4 hours of non CBS games before you have to sign in.

Either I'm using my 4 free hours, or there's a bug because if I sign in with my verizon package, I get the message about it not being in my package, but if sign out, I can watch it.

Yep. The OP should be thanking Cox Cable for having crappy packages. I say Thank You CBS for putting every single game on TV. I remember the years when only 1 of the 4 games were broadcast and you got whichever one your region decided to show. I missed a lot of Gator tournament games back then.
