Kentucky losing was hilarious, but what does that say about us?
Is the SEC really that bad? Were we swamping teams that were lousy and now were going to find out what 'good' really is?

It says the same thing about us losing to UL in football. It was a nothing game one side more determined than the other in a glorified exhibition. The sky didn't fall on our football program and the sky won't fall on their's (unfortunatley). All this means for me is that I get a good chuckle at our rival's expense just like our rivals got a good chuckle at ours. This is the nature of the sports beast.

Says nothing about us. Says volumes about UK's heart or will. It was similar to bammer's football loss to Utah in the '08 season. Had they beaten us in the SEC game, they go on to win the BSC title game. Their hearts weren't in the Sugar Bowl game and got beat.

Nothin'.
UK had motivation problems all year. Playing in the NIT likely didn't change that. Then playing in a 3500 seat venue on an opponent's home court, in that team's biggest moment ever, late on a Tuesday, etc. Other than the obvious talent advantage, all other factors favored RMU. And RMU has guys that can dunk and shoot too, it wasn't their intramural champ or anything. I will maximize the amusement aspect with my UK acquaintances but I'm really not shocked.

While I agree that UK losing means nothing, this "UL game was a total fluke" thing has never rung true.

Something more important is going on soon at Rupp that requires most of the on-campus staff, hence they couldn't use Memorial Coliseum either.

Still, the loss even had digs on Tim:

Kentucky missed the NCAA tourney & lost in the NIT 1st round. This is the worst version of the Wildcats since Tim Tebow ran the Jets offense

Our hated rival lost. How can I spin this to be a negative about us? Hmmm.

That was my first that as well.
However KY had no interest in being there, at all. They'd rather be back at rupp watching the tourney from the sidelines.

Being the one great team in a weak conference means nothing...ask Butler.
We are very good, and will show it.

I dont think you can compare a regular season rivalry game to a tournament that means nothing.
Florida is very good and will be a nightmare for teams!

I don't think the NIT game says anything about KY except that they just wanted this disaster of a season (by their standards) to be over as soon as possible.

I don't know if you actually watched the game, but Kentucky wasn't even trying for about 32 minutes of that game. Polson was the only guy on the court that played like he gave a damn

^^This^^
That was as disinterested a team as I've ever seen play. Tuning in after watching a great play-in game between NC A&T and Liberty made the lack of effort particularly glaring.

It says we're in the NCAA tourney...
While Kentucky is tied as the 96th worst team in the country. With F$U.
Could life be any better?
