Texas A&M and Texas have gone there separate ways since Texas A&M departed the Big 12 for the SEC.
Some would argue that Texas A&M is now the “it” school in the state with Kevin Sumlin at the helm and the Heisman Trophy winner in tow.
When the two schools last met it was Texas that was still the dominant school in the state and the two schools have no plans of renewing the 118-year rivalry any time soon.
In a story by Christian Corona of The Daily Texan, Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds said he believes the rivalry will renew but on the Longhorns terms.
“They left,” Dodds said. “They’re the ones that decided not to play us. We get to decide when we play again. I think that’s fair. If you did a survey of our fans about playing A&M, they don’t want to. It’s overwhelming. I know. I hear it. Our fans are important to us. I think there’s got to be a period where things get different. I think there’s too many hard feelings.”
aTm left. Then they experienced mega success and got if anything more national attention and had a Heisman Trophy Winner. Then they outrecruited Texas. Bevo's feeling mighty butt-hurt.
Translation "We know A&M is going to be the better program, they sure are right now and the Texas admin and coaches, as well as the fans do not want to play them because we know we will get our ass handed to us"

Here's the ironic thing. All these years, Texas A&M has desperately needed Texas to legitimize itself.
Now, regardless of what Dodds may try to say in the media, Texas needs Texas A&M a whole lot more than A&M needs Texas! A&M really doesn't need Texas at all!

My thoughts exactly, aTm doesn't need Texas anymore....and the Aggie fans I know are ecstatic about that.

"It" school? Uh, yeah, I guess if it's only regarding their recent football success (which I know is the subject of this board). Have you ever been to college station? BTW, fsu has nothing on big brother envy. aggies take it to a whole new level... I know many Gators, Horns and Aggies... let's just say the first two groups are most compatible. That being said, many Horns wouldn't be too upset to lose DeLoss and Mack.

From the look of things around here, somebody has to! I've attended both UF and UT. Unfortunately, a handful of foolish egomaniacs are currently at UT's wheel. It IS embarrassing.
Regarding fans, every school has bad apples, UT and UF are not immune. I've been in Texas (mostly Austin) for decades. Let's just say aggie defensiveness has been palpable. UT has it's share of snobs no doubt... Again, having spent many years in FL and TX, there just seems to be more similarities between Gators and Horns (yes, I am biased).

That would make a great thread. What school has the worst Big Brother Envy Syndrome in CFB. I have FSU and Mich State grads as neighbors. Sometimes I just have to walk away....
I think UF and UT are very similar. Mack is overstaying his welcome just as Bowden did. Aggy had a good year but can they do it repeatedly? I don't feel they can. Once Mack finally gets the AD job or gets canned you will see UT back on top in their respective conference and state while aggy goes back to being irrelevant. CS is a crap hole. Their little brother syndrome is so bad they won't allow a Hooters there because the colors. I'm no UT fan but I just can't stand aggy fans.
