The possibility of the first female president isnt enough to excite people? If it just comes down to young & sexy, then there probably isnt much of a demographic or ideological issue in politics, or for the GOP. Just find some hotties who know how to talk.

Hillary will be too old. Her moment was usurped by Obama. I would say this about any man or woman. We're electing a president, not a pope. Plus, she's been skirmishing around the presidency for so long I doubt she would create much excitement. Reminds me of McCain in this respect.

Whether you like her or not, Hillary is a strong candidate come 2016. I wouldn't be laughing at her chances. As of right now I'd call her the favorite. I wonder if a casino somewhere already has the odds out.

Current polls show Hillary would walk into the presidency against almost any pub challenger. They even have her winning in Texas.

I'm not saying it's anyone's fault. It's really your (their) own, but I think this is the main hurdle African American culture faces today. At the end of the day you make your own choices. Why is it culturally acceptable to have several children with multiple women and not pay a damn bit of attention to them?
Of course the poor is screwed over in our justice system, serving hard time for petty crimes. Then when they get out they can't get a decent job because they had a dime bag of weed on them.

If she's in good health and appears enthusiastic (i.e. doesnt come across as "old"), I dont see the age being a problem. Your moment is whenever your moment is. 2016 could be hers. But to a certain extent you are right, there's no one thats going to excite people as much as Obama in 2008 out there. But that's as true of the GOP as it is of the Dems.

This is true. But she also ran a pretty shoddy campaign too, thinking all she had to do was show up and get crowned. If she wants it, I think she'll learn from the past in that regard.

That's because you've never been 70.

Electability aside, I think the optimum range for a president is 50 - 60 years old. The presidency chews up people and spits them out, have you seen how aged the office makes the office-holder?

Reagan made 70 look good, McCain made it look bad. Its all about how you come across. I think being older is actually *better* (for lack of a better term) for women in politics, there wont be as much shallow focus on sex appeal (like Palin), and will lend some air of authority.

No, that is not what I did. Go to the source and read the actual RNC report, especially pages 7 and 8. The quotes were pulled right from the report itself. It's what disaffected republicans said about it as determined by the RNC not what the media said that they said.

I was thinking more along the lines of Rubio, or the brain surgeon. Or some dark horse that hasn't been his (or her) presence known yet.
