RNC Report: Pubs are scary old white men
RNC Report shows what we already knew. People see it as a party of "stuffy old white men" who are "scary" and "out of touch."
Good for them for publishing it, though.
Quote:
As part of the Growth and Opportunity Project’s effort, focus groups were conducted in Columbus, Ohio, and Des Moines, Iowa, to listen to voters who used to consider themselves Republicans. These are voters who recently left the Party.
Asked to describe Republicans, they said that the Party is “scary,” “narrow minded,” and “out of touch” and that we were a Party of “stuffy old men.” This is consistent with the findings of other post-election surveys.

Both parties are overflowing with fat white overhyped liberal lawyers who don't like to read bills. How many black Dems are in the US Senate now?

Very true. What is the average age of both dems and pubs? Anybody know?

There are 4 Democratic black senators, and 2 that are Republican.
I don't think the survey was about senators though--it's. a party-wide perception.

Actually, there's one from both parties in the US Senate currently per Wiki. Both were appointed. The Dem, appointed this year in place of Kerry, isn't running in the special election, the Pub is.
Who cares what the perception is. The perception is spread by the liberal white media.

Pretty much the same picture the Democrats with help from the majority of the media have painted them with constant mudslinging accusations. Substance with proven solutions would overcome this but the problem for the Pubs FOR YEARS has been they've had too many unable and/or unwilling to properly articulate a compelling message inherent with their party to overcome the stereotype successfully casted upon them by their opponents. "It's wrong headed!" was about all Romney could offer to counter Obama's economic ideology. Sorry, that's not going to cut it. Thankfully and finally some younger, sharper, much more conservatively grounded faces are emerging.

Tim Scott SC is a pub and William McGowan is a dem from Mass. Pub's also have Rubio from FL and Cruz Tx and the dems, Menendez NJ and Hirono (Asian American) from HI
In the house, it's much different. Check out this interactive.

You shouldn't blame everyone else when factually, pubs have done very little reach out to minorities, while also engaging in the kind of rhetoric that turns off many minorities, even those that might see other pub positions as appealing. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out, it just takes an honest appraisal without trying to saddle blame everywhere else.
I give the RNC credit for at least finally taking a step in the right direction.

Actually my post put a large amount of blame on the Pubs, even specifically called out Romney. My point was they have been outrageously unable to articulate and inspire potential voters with a compelling case for American entrepreneurialism. It's done pretty well and the most effective poverty buster ever created. Without that they have nothing, and nothing to counter the attacks of their opponents.

Report from everyday America: politicians suck, regardless of party.
Source: congressional approval ratings

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. The GOP is having a very difficult time figuring out where it stands:
Quote:
RNC chair Reince Priebus, promoting a new RNC report calling on the party to support immigration reform, told CNNs Wolf Blitzer Monday that he was disappointed with Mitt Romney's handling of the issue. But he understated just how close Romney's position was to the broader GOP at the time.
"One of the issues that I think really cut pretty badly within the Hispanic communities [was] when Mitt Romney talked about self-deportation," Priebus told CNN. He added that "it's a concept that really doesn't -- it's not our party's position. But it was something that i think hit every Hispanic kitchen table across america."
Despite Priebus' stated shock at the idea undocumented immigrants should be expected to "self-deport," Romney's plan actually is the party's position today. According to the GOP platform approved by the RNC last year under Priebus' stewardship, "We will create humane procedures to encourage illegal aliens to return home voluntarily, while enforcing the law against those who overstay their visas."

The Democratic Party has done a fantastic job of attracting the minority vote.

There aren't any liberals left in the Republican Party, they have all been run off.
Heck, there aren't that many moderate Republicans left either, you Tea Party people take them out in primaries which then puts more Democrats in the Senate (e.g. Richard Lugar/Joe Donnelly)

I'm not sure, just seems there's been a bit too much victimization and you can't do it on your own mentality being instilled in urban neighborhoods. Yet if I drive over to the NW side of Jax it's deplorable and as dangerous as ever. Do republicans have the answer? No. But maybe depending on Democrats for a magic ticket is not the answer.
