Shameless......(Showtime series)
I accidently stumbled upon this a few weeks back, and now have a can't miss weekly show.
This show is incredible. Any fans out there?
William Macy has always been one of my favorites, and he just KILLS it in his role as the drunk bum of an absentee father (albeit brilliant), Frank Gallagher.

I love it. Actually a remake of the same series in Britain and they use the same plot lines. Thankfully I never watched the British version.
Great show, though certain subplots have bothered me recently, but overall love it

It's in which season. I could go get season DVDs to catch up.

Great series & one of my favorites. When you think the Gallagher's can't shock you more, they do.

Its a great show. If you like this, you should try Californication. I think it comes on just before or just after Shameless.

It's definitely my guilty pleasure. The Gallagher family never disappoints.

Watched it last night. At first it was like HuH? Then it just kept getting better. You guys are right about Macy. He's quickly becoming one of my favorite TV characters.

It is unusual at first....until you learn the characters.
Basically, the dad (Macy) is a fun drunk, proud to be a drunk, has no plans of stopping. Meanwhile, he is brilliant and will scam anything and anyone to help him drink. he does nt live at home and does not help AT ALL.
The oldest daughter, Fiona, is in charge of the 6 kids and is phenomenal, keeping it all together.
Oldest son, Lip, is also brilliant, but knows he's poor. He has a heart deep inside, the father doesn't.
A few other children al with story lines.
Mom has major problems and disappeared early in the families life.
They live in inner city Chicago, and are all so tough and so proud to be a Gallagher, despite their obstacles.
It's hilarious, tearjerking, suspensful, just a great show.
