IMO we are only a 2 seed if....
We win tomorrow and Miami loses to UNC...based on Lunardi's bracketology, Miami is the last 2 seed....I think if they lose and we win we take that last 2 seed spot...the only other possibility might be if Ohio St loses to Wisconsin....other than that, I see us being a 3 seed even with a win tomorrow....thoughts?

We would need a decent UNC win over Miami and probably an Ohio State loss. And we need some people on the committee to stand up for our resume.

I just hope we're not in Louisville's bracket.

While Louisville is scary good, their PG play (Siva) is way too inconsistent for me to pencil them in the FF at this time....but they definitely have the coach and the talent

Louisville's press would eat Wilbekin up, Kenny would have to play the point which I'm fine with

If UF wins tomorrow & is slapped with a #3 seed, it's a travesty. Look over the pOSU resume, it's not as good as ours from winning against the top 50 or RPI based. We had Georgetown beat for a half & their overall RPI isn't as good, but they're a little better against top 50.

The selection committee has a "what have you done for me lately" mentality. Ohio State's two wins over Michigan State and @ Indiana are better than any wins we've had in months. Heck those teams are better than any team we've even played in months.

This is spot on. In Ohio State's last 6 games (where they've gone 6-0), they've beaten 3 teams ranked in the Top 10. If they win the Big Ten Tourney tomorrow, you can add another Top 25 win on top of being the tournament champ of what was widely regarded as the toughest conference this year.
That's no knock against Florida, who I think should be ahead of Miami if both teams win their respective conferences. And Georgetown blew it with their lousy Big East Tourney showing.

I wonder if the Committee will look at our 1st half against Georgetown as a positive for the Gators.

No telling what the committee will do. It is always this way. But all the analytics are in our favor in a big, big way. I would be shocked if we aren't a 2-seed.

This is a two part equation and I agree that a Gator win and scUM loss is required for us to have any shot at a #2 seed.
That said, the 3:30 start of Ohio State/Wisconsin leaves the committee little time to make significant moves in the brackets so close to the 6 pm unveiling, particularly with the large number of Big 10 teams expecting to receive bids.
The only scenario I could see would be to put Ohio State and Florida in the same region and flip/flop the seeds should the Buckeyes lose.

We're a three seed that sometimes plays like a one seed.

I agree. The Gators have the second best BPI in the nation, behind only Louisville. For a team with those metrics to end up on the three line is ridiculous.

We all would love the Gators to earn a 2 seed and there's a good argument for it, esp. if they win convincingly today. That said, a 3 seed means they are about the 9th most deserving team in the country, which is not bad.
I wonder if being the highest seed (say out west with the Zags/New Mex) would be better than the lowest two (if that meant being in IU or L'ville bracket). Like some other posters have mentioned. The draw will be more important than the seed.

Well, all speculation is nothing but speculation.
The probabilities are highest for a #3 seed, and I am not sure that I see much difference between a #3 seed and a #2 seed (appears pretty minimal to me).
Now, a #4 seed puts you in the #1 seed bracket, so, that could be a bad seed, except that Gonzaga appears likely to get a #1, and being in their bracket would make it better than a #2 or #3 in my humble opinion.

i can't imagine why anyone would look at half a game played at the beginning of the season.

If Florida is a #3 seed, your beef should be with Georgetown. If you look at BPI, RPI, Sagarin, and Pomeroy, Georgetown doesn't merit a 2 seed in any of those. And Miami doesn't merit a 2 seed in 3 of those, but unlike Georgetown, at least they're in their tournament finals.

I agree, I forgot George Town my post above, no way they should be seeded ahead of us.
