High praise from Bobby Knight
Early during the telecast of our game, Bobby Knight said that he thought our game against Texas A&M earlier this season (which he covered) was the best performance he has seen all year. High praise from a man of his stature, who has seen many of the best major conference teams play this year.
Then, after our come-back win, he said that some very good teams can't make a comeback like that against a team playing well and playing great defense, suggesting that he thinks we're more than just a very good team.
By the way, I think he does very good in game commentary.

I hated him as a coach. I do like his analysis though, not just because he gives Billy and our team props. I've learned a few things about watching the game from some of things he has said in the games he's done.

Agree. I also agree with his opinion about the tourneys wearing down the teams that win it and that some teams that loose their tourney may do better in NCAA Championship. due to losing.

I agree. He knows the game and conveys what he knows to the audience.

Knight besides being a great coach was hilarious today when he commented that he chastised Marshall Henderson for talking too much mainly because of his attitude. If anyone ever had an attitude it is Bobby Knight!

Never has really liked him but he knows the game and I liked listening to him during games. He is old and gets a bit confused at time but brings a lot of knowledge to the broadcasts.

His contract won't be renewed because he's awkward doing color commentary at live telecasts. He's fine as a studio analyst.

He was a very good coach. His teams were always ready, and always played all out.
If there is anything like a heaven, there appears to be a distinct possibility that he lacks a reserved seat (assuming one thinks there might be some kind of God judging one's action).

Yeah, one minute Rece Davis is correcting him calling an and 1 free throw a one and one but then the next he says something that really makes sense as far as how something should be executed.

Bobby "Robert" Knight was a great coach in the 1970's. While the rules of the game have changed a bit, the way the game is played has changed a lot. He never adjusted.
But I do have to say that this season's Gator team plays the game very old school and that is why he likes the way we play. We play "team" O and "team" D. We don't have the one-on-one stud player (also known as the 'go to guy') and that is our strength and our weakness. The problem is that we resort to that kind of play at crunch time instead of just running our usual offense.

I thought he was going to punch Saunders for not appreciating how good UF's comeback was.

Of course, last year's Ky team played to the SEC finals, losing to Vandy in a close game there and went on the win the NCAA tournament.
Also, both Gator National Championship teams won the SEC tournament before winning the National Tournament, and those were both thinner teams than this one, effectively playing only 7 players compared with 8 here. Admittedly, Hodge, in both his frosh and soph year was a better substitute point guard for Green than Boynton is for Wilbekin, and tired PGs lose close games.

Both championship teams weren't really 'thin'. We had Richards and Moss/Speights.. Effectively 4 big big-men each year. We were much more dominant inside and we had enough depth to withstand foul trouble through the tourney. The only area we were 'thin' was PG, and forutnately for us Taurean played steady, often, and at a high level.

2006 was not so thin. 2007 was terribly thin. Speights played 5.7 minutes per game.
I agree about Green. Why no one for two straight tourneys attacked him was shocking to me.

Walter Hodge was a serviceable backup in 07, no?

It's okay for the General to have an attitude, however not for the players.
I appreciate his knowledge of the game, but he is a pompous ass, there is no doubt about that.
