Would rather be the #2 in the West and deserve it.
Would rather be #2 there.
1s-Miami(South), Louisville (East), Kansas (MW),Gonzaga(W)
2s-Indiana (S), Duke (E), Georgetown(MW), UF(W)
3S-KState(S), Michigan State(E), OSU (MW),New Mexico (W)

Nope. You do not want to have to travel to California. I'd rather be a 3 or 4-seed closer to home than be a 2-seed and have to head out West.

WEST ANY DAY OF THE WEEK! What matters IMO is who you have to beat to get to the final four. I'll play in antartica if I can avoid tougher teams.

I want the Gators to be in whatever bracket where Gonzaga is #1, I don't care if that bracket plays in Siberia.
Admittedly, I am not chartering the plane to get the team to the contests.

Life was good when my sister lived in Redondo. Got home sick and moved back east.

Pomeroy has Gonzaga up to 4 now. His formula shows a team's real strength based on efficiency and not on wins and losses. The teams we want in our bracket are Miami, Michigan, Syracuse or Georgetown. All of them may get higher seeds than they deserve.

I don't follow it as closely as some of you, but I'm still not sure why UF wouldn't be considered for a #1 if they win the SECT.
I thought it was interesting when the CBS half-time crew was talking seeding to someone from the Committee (probably the chairman) today, and they asked him what criteria he considered to be most important. He said he considered the conference tourneys to be just an extension of the regular season and no more important than regular season games - which won't help us much.
Then the guy from the Committee mentioned that they use RPI to sort of organize the field for teams' records against Top 50 and Top 100 and so forth. But he said he doesn't consider it to be that important for ranking teams, and that he also sees BPI and kenpom as important indicators.
He said for example if there's a team that's, say, #20 in the RPI, but #2 in kenpom that that would catch his eye as possibly significant. Seemed like he might have been referring specifically to UF unless there's some other team that fits those parameters that I'm not aware of

There's no team with such a large discrepancy. We're #8 in the RPI, #1 in Kenpom and #2 in the BPI. If the committee really considers all of those together, there's no way we're not at least a #2 and they might even make us a #1, which would have a lot of people howling.
It upset a lot of people that they made us the overall #1 in 2007 after a lackluster regular season, but we proved them right by not being threatened in any game of the tourney.

I would rather be a 1 in the South. Do you think there has ever been a case where a team won their conference, won their conference tourney, was a top 4 RPI and was the top ranked in strength rankings like Pomeroy and Sarigan and did not get a one seed? That is what UF is looking at if they can win tommorrow.
I could see the ones being, UF, Miami, UL and UNM.

Im sorry but even as a gator fan I dont think we have a legitimate argument for a #1 seed. #1 seeds dont usually lose 4 games down the stretch in a subpar conference and have 0 quality wins on the road. If Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kentucky were legit tournament teams this year which it seems likely that they all will not be, our losses wouldnt appear as bad.
I think we are battling Georgetown, and Ohio State for the last # 2 seed.

Our '07 team had a very similar resume to us. They lost 3 of their last 5 games and wound up as the overall #1 seed.
It's really hard to ignore #8 RPI, #2 BPI, #1 Kenpom, #3/1 Sagarin.

Just watch them ignore it.
The SEC guy on the committee is a Duke guy that is now at LSU.
We will get screwed and Duke will not.

Yep another one of the faux-objective UF fans who listen to the national media running down UF year after year not understanding they do that because of UF's small basketball fan base. Well UF was robbed of a bid in 2009 and UF is certainly in the running for a 1 seed this year.

Why wouldn't these numbers also even improve for us with a win and drop for others who have lost this week/weekend?
