I think it is clear, based on various responses, that many consider "legal = moral." Put another way: if government condemns it, it's bad/if government sanctions it, it's good.

Accordingly, slavery was good ... until it was bad.

Theft is good ... insofar as it is sanctioned by government.

Murder is bad ... unless authorized by government.

Homosexual marriage is sinful ... until you discover your child is homosexual.
