World poll: Image of U.S. declines
Thanks Mr. Obama you ambassador of peace and tranquility... and transparency...
http://www.politico.com/story/2013/0...816.html?hp=l6
Worldwide approval of U.S. leadership dipped considerably during President Barack Obama’s fourth year in office — but it increased in some countries, including Mexico.
The median approval rating for U.S. leadership for 130 countries was 41 percent in 2012, down 8 percentage points from the 49 percent approval during Obama’s first year in office, according to a Gallup poll released Wednesday.
“This shift suggests that the president and the new secretary of state may not find global audiences as receptive to the U.S. agenda as they have in the past. In fact, they may even find even once-warm audiences increasingly critical,” Gallup’s Julie Ray wrote.

Before Obama took office, 34 percent of the world approved of the US and 34 percent disapproved. Now 41 percent approve and 25 disapprove.

Speaks volumes about the lunacy of the world, doesn't it? I'd love to see a breakdown of which country approved and disapproved. I can assume, of course, that Venezuela, North Korea and Cuba were among those who strongly disapproved of the United States in 2008. Of the three, only North Korea would doubtless still disapprove, and even THEY don't understand why...

Where does it say the "image of the US"?
It is talking about the leadership, and it could just as easily be talking about the disfunctional congress as the President.
Pretty poorly worded question that they used for their poll if you ask me.

Why do we care what the rest of the world thinks? We should do what is right, protect our freedoms, and if we are hated for it so be it. Last thing we should do is reduce freedom so others like us more

In different words, maybe it is because what we are doing now is better for our interests but just fewer folks from around the world approve.

As a leader, I'd rather have respect than love. Other countries or people may "say" they love us more....I suspect because of Obama apology tours which happens whenever he goes abroad. Our real friends want us to be bad ass sum bitches.

Obama will be back on "World Apology Tour II" later this year no doubt. He hasn't kissed enough foreign asses lately so it is no wonder the approval rate is falling.
Fear not--the Messiah will lower us to new levels unseen in modern times before all is said and done. We shall too be so much like the rest of the socialist world that all those other countries will love us more than ever. Just give Obama time to get his agenda back on track.

They like Obama because they don't have to have terrorist attacks against us to kill us anymore, Obama and his drones will do it for them.

Please enjoy the irony of Europeans being able to express an opinion without fear of being arrested by the Gestapo or the KGB all courtesy of the mean old United States.

The Soviets killed more German soldiers than all the other Allied nations combined.
The Eastern front was a slaughter on both sides.

And the Communist Red Army killed more German civilians than all the Allied nations combined! I had relatives in Eastern Europe before and during WW2. Fortunately most of them were able to escape the Red Army. But some were not. Some of the stories I heard from the older generation were horrific. Some of them would talk about those times. And some never would. Most of that older generation has now passed on.
