Here's what we gave up in potential points at the end. Given UF's probabilities over this year for the types of shots we took (I guesstimated layups), the expected value is 13.5 points. Even with the turnovers & possible disparity of fouls called on UF, the Gators should have won.

6 Missed Jumpers
  • 48.6% x 12 = 5.8 points
3 Missed Layups
  • 90% x 6 = 5.4 points
2 Missed Three Point Jumpers
  • 37.9% x 6 = 2.3 points

The biggest issue I have is the timing and how awful the collapse. I know some on here want to minimize it as much as possible BUT the reality is we should be peaking into a well oiled machine not the reverse.

Please spare me the "remember in x year we lost blah blah and still did blah blah". Unless it was the 04's who actually won the whole thing, who cares? And even then they were stacked. We aren't anything close to them currently.

Patric wasn't intimidated. Patric just hasn't come to appreciate how easy the game can be for him if he uses his legs and strength more under the boards. He should have broken Stein in two. He's that much stronger than Stein. But when he played the game from the waist up and not from the feet up, he allowed Stein to neutralize his power.

We only gave up 11 points in the last 8 minutes. I think our D played pretty well during that stretch, especially given that we gave them like 3 turnovers (a couple of flat-out gifts). If we are such big "chokers" as some people are suggesting, why did our defense play so well? Are we just "chokers" on offense, but not on defense? Someone please explain this to me...

The last 7 minutes were so bad that if I didn't know any better (or this was 1919) I would have suspected that the team actually threw the game. That is how bad it was. Especially with Scottie's nonchalant attitude after that ridiculous left handed alley oop pass to Prather that went over his head by 3 ft.

Aside from all of the miserable shooting, fouls and careless ball handling they failed to go right at the KY big guy who was playing with four fouls. Billy should have told them to go right at Stein/klein (?) but the players never did. With him out of the game ( they had 11 minutes to force a foul or get an easy basket) but no one challenged him...NO ONE!

I'm pretty sure Murph went at him at least once and got called for a charge. But I agree, we could have attacked him more.
