He's the only guy who can hit in close ball games. Wilbekin and Rosario are careless when the pressure is on. That will change when Kasey Hill is on the lineup.

That's not true. You are probably only remembering the Elite 8 losses, but there were plenty of games that Erv iced with good free throw shooting or making a big play (like that UCLA game).

I think it is pretty safe to say that I would rather have Erv with the ball in his hands in the last seven minutes of a game that we lead by less than 10 then either Rosario or Wllbekin But Erv is somewhere in Italy right now and these guys are just going to have to figure it out..

Exactly. Can't even count how many times EW iced games in the last 2 minutes. It happened on many occasions.

I do also remember him having a last second 3 pt shot blocked (nothing to do with being clutch), and his fatal mistake was always driving too deep in the lane and doing something stupid (but even here while he was probably not being "smart", he made a few amazing plays to win games by having balls and going aggressive). I guarantee you Erv Walker would have found a way to pickup that 5th foul on Cauley-Smith, even if it meant being "stupidly agressive" for a 5'6" guard he would have drawn that 5th foul on him.

Ev was always a bit of a mixed bag. One of the better "clutch" shooters we've probably ever had at the FT line or if you need a shot to win. But also being so undersized definitely changed our ability to really matchup well on defense.

Where is Instigator to come on this thread and tell us how selfish a player Boynton is to have taken that shot and how he would rather be a hero than sweep UK, etc. etc.?

Not to fan the flames, but I think our recent struggles and the silence of some known Erv-critics do point to some imbalance in their criticisms.

Erv Walker and Taurean Green very under rated and under valued players IMO. They had a lot of intangibles that you don't see in the stat sheets.

Heck Walter Hodge too. I really miss those guys.
