From 7:36 on, Murphy takes just one shot. The guy was on fire. How???
When a guy is shooting it like he was today, You find a way to get him the ball.
Billy has got to find a way to get him the ball in situations like this. The guy was nuclear today.
Does he just not want the ball late?
WTF, what a terrible gutless choke job loss. This team just disappears in close games down the stretch.
Get the f---ing ball to Murphy down the stretch

Murphy and Kenny Boynton combined for two shots in the last 8 minutes.

Was it the Mizzou game when Kenny fired up bricks late? I think it was. Billy D said his plan was to go inside late in that game. I thought he do that towards the end today but once again, Kenny is out there firing up a quick shot. Billy should have drawn up plays late to get the ball inside to Murphy or Young. If they get doubled, a guard is wide open.
And if they kick it to Kenny, he was having 1st half success driving the ball so he could have opted for that. Billy D should shoulder some of the blame for not drawing more plays to get the bigs more touches late.

But if anyone can get a good look at the basket from three, it is Murphy at 6'-10". How come he has never taken a game winning type shot? Always a smaller guard taking a contested shot. Is there anyone less clutch than Boynton? And he always takes the shot.

And Boynton took one shot in the 2nd half -- the last one. And missed. He must be hurtin'.

That was a good call though. Wasn't a bad idea by Murphy, but Cauley-Stein made the play.
What I was pissed about, is the fact that was basically the ONLY time we even gave Cauley-Smith the OPPORTUNITY to pick up his 5th foul. We should have basically been driving it right at him and posting up the whole time he was on the floor with 4 fouls. Whoever he was guarding, should have been posting up and given the ball. Even if it was Yeguette. A couple of times our guards had opportunities to drive at him off a pick and roll, and NOTHING happens. We just take a couple of dribbles and pull it back out. Why??? The guy has 4 fouls. If you keep going at him you WILL get him out of the game, maybe give him a pump fake to get him in the air and then force the contact.

Because the guards didn't get him the ball when he was open. There were times and Billy pointed it out once down the stretch. Just not a smart team for some reason.

Young had a few times where he should have attacked him, but didn't.

This.
Baffled why we didn't do that. And yes, it was the right call too (much as I hate admitting it).

He NEVER attacks the rim. Always doing reverse layups when he should be dunking it. He is a finesse big man and just not aggressive enough IMO.

BlING - agree. I just can not fathom how we didn't go RIGHT AT Cauley-Stein three of four times in row until he is OUT!! If our starting guards can't get it done (or we don't want them to pick up the fouls), put in Braxton or some one else and drive right at him a few times & see if you can get Cauly-Stein to pick up the foul. Don't you learn this in like Jr. High?? What am I missing?

Pat had position on him multiple times, but went up extremely weak. No explanation for that.

Tough to get anyone shots when you turn it over 6 out of the last 12 possessions.

Easy. Our guards, typically our PG, didn't get him the ball. Dribble..dribble..dribble...throw it away.

This just isn't true, Casey went at him a couple of times, as did Murphy, right when he came back in and Cauley-Smith backed off and let them score, then at the end Casey missed a bunny and a put back (fouled, no call, by Smith on the second one) and Young went at him twice only to miss, I don't agree that Young went up soft, Smith just didn't contest very much and Young shot it like he was expecting contact, same thing happened to Willbekin on one of his late drives, he tried to draw the foul instead of concentrating on just making the shot, Smith backed off and the shot missed, got to make shots, bottom line

This. Pat played Cauley-Stein like he had four fouls...not the other way around. That one time Pat went for - and missed - the reverse layup he just flat ran away from him.

Patric can't pump fake without traveling or fumbling the ball.

Exactly. Pretty poor game from the pg position. Just look at the assist numbers.
