This guy should never commentate another basketball game ever again. I don't want to listen to him ever again explain with such arrogant certitude why a given call was the right one --- as we are watching a replay showing indisputably that it was the wrong one. He must have done it five or seven times that game.
Patric Young tipped the ball off of a Kentucky defender's hand with ten seconds left. Cauley-Stein was still moving as he undercut Murphy on the layup, what should have been Cauley-Stein's fifth foul. Spanarkel told us this was an EASY call, while at the same time complaining about the rule that didn't allow Mays to throw his whole upper body through Yeguete at the other end.
The biggest insult was Spanarkel saying Wilbekin tried to draw contact toward the end but missed. No, you arrogant fool --- he did not miss. He drew contact, as he done nearly every other time he drove the line that game, but as usual did not get the call.
I would have sworn Spanarkel was a Kentucky grad with the way he called that game but I looked it up --- he's a Duke grad. What a joke.
