The State of Texas being the size that it is, there is no reason A&M shouldn't have good years every year.
I think we are now seeing exactly what the Univ. of Texas feared, A&M goes to the SEC and suddenly they are relevant again.

I'm glad they are in the SEC. They will win a National Championship before long, and at least it will be another for the 'good guys'

They have him listed as a corner I dont really disagree. If he plays corner he is a pretty average player high 3 star low 4 star. If you think of him as a Safety/ nickle corner he is a solid 4 star player. Pretty much everybody has him ranked as a 3 */4*r 247 has him at a 90 and 89 is a 3 star player.
I think he is a lot like Elam could play emergency corner but best position is at safety and nickle. He fits our system very well which is all that really matters
Matt Elam 5'10 208
Brian Poole 5' 10" 206
Duke Dawson 5'10 188 will add prob 7 lbs in college
that would be a great succession at the nickle spot Duke is a good player not sure he is the athlete Elam and Poole were.

Ok. I don't see him as a corner either. But a 3* just seemed low to me based on what I saw from film. wasn't expecting a 5* rating either. I can see him @ safety tho, bcuz it looks like he loves contact. Thanks for the insight AZ

He's a good, young, energetic coach followed up with the most exciting player in the college football... Why wouldn't someone want to go there? Especially the kids around that general area now they get to compete in the SEC

They will have a good class this year. It will be interesting to see where they get their Defensive line from down year in Texas at that position.

A&M seems to be able to pick a little out of Florida, but I imagine Florida, but mainly Oklahoma, Nebraska, possibly Arizona? Might even be able to get something out of Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama. Now that A&M has taken that step up, it should be generally easy for them to recruit other areas, because they're the "hot" thing.

They are not getting an elite Dlinemen out of Florida. They are not going to beat out Bama or Auburn in Alabama (unless the kid was from Texas) so that leaves Louisiana.

Even picking away from LSU is difficult out of their home state. Maybe they won't get "elite" linemen out of Florida, but IMO a Florida 3 star linemen is a 4 star in most other places at times by the quality of competition each team plays weekly here in Florida. A&M can definitely extend to Arizona, and who knows we really haven't seen the full Sumlin effect yet, they just started to make a name for themselves with that team, maybe another season or two they can start picking out more in the Carolina's, or Northeast who knows. Either way a lot of kids from the Northeast want to play down south and that's a big growing name to play for.

They are not coming to Florida they will lose that battle. Just like we will lose the battle in Texas. It will continue to be Texas and JUCO's which is fine. I highly doubt they go to the north east too it makes no sense for them to. Texas and Texas A & M should and will continue to recruit in Texas and use JUCO to supplement talent. its just this year the DLine position is slim pickings in the state.
It will also be very interesting to see how A & M plays this year Sumlin walked into a very good situation from a talent stand point. They wont be as talented this year as they were last year.

Very true, the thing is Sumlin has enough talent on O to supplement their losses. It's going to be defense that will be hard on them and anyone who knows the SEC knows that defense is the best foundation to winning within this conference. As to the northeast, yes it doesn't make sense, and yes they should continue to recruit Texas and they will along with JUCO players, but it also makes no sense for a player out of the west to come to Florida or a player from the northeast to do the same other than tradition, NFL, and SEC. Now A&M can say the same thing, and they got a hot name coach like Florida and Muschamp. Granted they won't be able to come in and cherry pick through Florida, but going other places I think won't be unheard of.

They might get a kid if he has connections to the program but it just a lot of effort for little results. We have put some offers out in Cali this year because a few people on staff have connections out there.
I just looked Texas A & M has 69 offers out 30 in Texas 14 in Louisiana 2 n Calii 2 in AZ and 1 in Pennsylvania (JUCO0.
A & M lost a nice chunk of the WR core and a All American LT.

You can build around Manziel, it's sort of going to be a Cam Netwon or Tim Tebow, run around till someone's open, or take off lol. And your correct, all I was saying is that they could definitely extend out this way, I would say getting a 3-4 star player out of Florida is a great result, but typically they will stick to Texas, Arizona, and I know last year they got a few out of Louisiana, Cali, and Kansas. One out of Arizona , so it seems those are the teams hot beds. Muschamp has ties to Texas and doesn't Derek Lewis?
