I still look for Kentucky to give the Gators a tough game at home.

Don't worry about it. We give UK a fair amount of crap on this board but you guys are good posters and probably handle this kind of stuff better than most of us would were the roles reversed.

Exactly. The home/road disparity in the conference is mind-boggling. Before last night's game, I told my UK buddy that they had better chance of beating us on Saturday than a hyped-up bunch of Bulldogs in Athens. It was no surprise that they lost last night and it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone if they play well and beat the Gators in Lexington.

ESPN would have annointed them the heirs to last year's throne if the Cats had managed to squeak by the Dawgs. ESPN can't help themselves. They overhype everything related to the Cats, Duke, the Lakers, LeBron and a few other preferred teams or players. They begrudgingly report on other teams and players.

I'm hoping the quick turn-around from their game in Athens will have them lethargic. But playing at Rupp will be more than enough to offset that.

The only thing I can say about the Lakers and UK is that they are two, often prominent, teams whose seasons haven't gone as planned and both risk/face not making the playoffs. This is newsworthy, isn't it? Trust me, I'd rather it not be.
Getting attention from the media isn't always a good thing or a reward for an accomplishment. ESPN just tries to shine a light on whatever they think will get the most attention. My big gripe with ESPN is how involved they actually get in stories and how they can actually manufacture or try to generate interest sometimes. Not that Tim Tebow needed help being interesting, but ESPN did this to him to his detriment.

I predicted after the loss of Noah they would be a .500 team. I'm not sure I wasn't too far off.

I don't mind the attention, my thing is UK loses a random game at UGA who is playing well and they not only get a super long highlight on ESPN, but they interview players about the loss. My only problem with this is that UF just won the SEC championship a day (or two) before and we got a 30 second highlight with something like a "by the way Florida won the SEC" barely mentioned.

I understand for sure but they are an entertainment outlet more than just a news source so the general masses seem more interested in what drivel came out of Dwightmare's mouth this week that legitimate news stories, more ofter than not..

I know... gets under my skin too.
Florida starts winning more and more SEC Championships and we will be up there with the Wildcats.

If you have a device...mobile, tablet, PC....that can connect to this thread, It will also take you to ESPN. Where they display scores of sporting events.

I agree.
I think that Calipari has set the program up for feast or famine & this is just a down year. Personally, I don't like using a lot of one-and-done players because I think it diminishes the program's identity. However, this may turn out to be a viable way to recruit & UK fans will just have to change their perspective to accept a lot of variation between seasons.
