What's behind door #3? Well we have......Jeb Bush
I don't think this comes as a big surprise to a lot of people considering the lure of the top executive job in the world has to be strong. Some have been saying we would see a Clinton vs Bush race in 2016 and that may be a possibility.
Quote:
WASHINGTON (AP) — Jeb Bush has long resisted pressure from supporters to run for president. Now the former Florida governor is signaling that he's at least open to the idea, a shift that comes as he promotes a new book and Republicans struggle to rebound after President Barack Obama's re-election.
"I'm not saying yes. I'm just not saying no," Bush told NBC News earlier this week, one of a series of such comments he's made as he talks about the book "Immigration Wars" in television interviews and forums.
Comments like those from Bush, 60, are in sharp contrast to past refusals to even entertain the idea of following in the footsteps of his older brother, former President George W. Bush, and their father, former President George H.W. Bush.
.................................
"He's sent a very strong signal this week that he, for the first time, is going to seriously, seriously consider running," said Cory Tilley, a former Bush aide in Florida. "It's the signal that a lot of people have been waiting to hear."

I like Jeb quite a bit, but no. Can we get a time machine and trade him for GWB?

If this is the best that the pubs have to offer they are in for a long election. There has got to be somebody better then another Bush.

Please Republicans, nominate JEB! I don't think highly of the guy who did his best to bring back crony practices to the State of Florida and dismantle much of it's model program for open government started under Askew. Hurricaine fan to boot.

It seems as if liberals want Jeb to run they are the ones who keep claiming Jeb is the next GOP nominee. I don't hear many conservatives clamoring for Jeb Bush. Marco Rubio would seem to be the favorite at this early point in the process.
It's a long way away and many things can happen between now and 2016.

A Bush-Rubio ticket would be incredible. It's really unfortunate GWB f'd it up for the best Bush in the family. He was a fantastic governor. Liberals hated him because he cut waste and fat from the state gov. It was a refreshing change.

The guy who won the Senatorial race with 48.9% of the vote? A real powerhouse. A franchise candidate!

I'm trying to figure out if this post is a joke or if you actually believe this means something.

It's a joke, but not on me. What is it about this guy that gives such confidence in his elecatability? Assumptions that his tea party roots are all in the past? Better hope so.

Shocking news: Winning candidate in evenly-divided purple state did not have a runaway victory.

PS If Meeks had gotten out of the race it would be Senator Crist eyeing a national ticket and Rubio would be with a paid speakers agency.

He would have lost in a banner year for Republicans. As I asked, what is it about him that inspires confidence in his electability? Time magazine?

He's very polished and slick. Scarry polished and slick. Not much on substance, really, but very effective at delivering messages. You know, kinda like your candidate.
Oh, and Rubio is, for all intents and purposes, Jeb. He is the protege'.
