Gator Softball: taking on #1 Alabama tonight 7 pm
unique midweek game vs #1 alabama in tuscaloosa today at 7 pm!
doesn't count to the SEC standings, supposedly. hmmm
big test, nonetheless
http://www.gatorzone.com/story.php?id=25132
apparently the game was scheduled when the conference didn't match us up in league play this season. wanted to keep the rivalry going. nice work!
go gators!

They had better be visiting Gainesville whenever the next matchup in the regular season is set. The regular season series and SEC tournament were both in Tusclaloosa in 2012.

Not really a fan of the new scheduling format where we only play series against 8 of the other 12 teams. At the same time, at this point, I think we have to be favorites to win the league considering we face only 1 of the top 6 teams in official league play.
Our Schedule:
at Auburn
#8 TENNESSEE
ARKANSAS
at Ole Miss
MISS STATE
at #17 Kentucky
#24 GEORGIA
at South Carolina
Do Not Play:
#1 Alabama
#5 Missouri
#7 Texas A&M
#12 LSU

Stewart walked, stole 2b, advanced to 3b on a groundout and scored on an error by the 2b.

Nice start, but I think this might be a pretty high scoring game despite what the ERA's of the respective pitchers might suggest.

They usually are in this rivalry. Bama's first ranked opponent of the season, so we will see how they respond to that.

Yeah, I was pretty amazed by the Bama players' batting averages, then looked up their schedule to date. To say we're their biggest test so far would be an understatement and a half.

Seems like this umps strike zone is rather generous. Maybe it will be a pitcher's dual after all?
Still 1-0 Gators through 2.

It is streamed on CBS All-Access, which most schools aside from us use. $14.95/month, I think.

Fair enough. Rogers just was not anywhere close for most of that last inning. Unusual for her.
On the one hand, she didn't give the heart of Bama's lineup anything to hit, but you aren't doing yourself any favors with 3 walks and 10+ pitches down in the dirt.

Bama's stupidity allows us to tie it. Runners on the corners, 2 out, Stewart steals second and they throw down to try and get her, ball goes to the outfield. You aren't gonna get kelsey Stewart, so thanks after we gifted them 2 runs that were unearned.

A walk? GameCast has it that Bama started with a single and then followed with an RBI double.
