Here is a list of out of state high school games scheduled so far for the 2013 season.
Miami Central vs Don Bosco Prep NJ
Naples vs Centerville OH
Venice vs Plano East TX
Manatee vs Gilman MD
Manatee vs Friendship DC
University Christian vs Highlands KY
Godby vs Demartha MD
Trinity Catholic vs Calvert Hall MD
Baker County vs Camden County GA
Apopka vs Byrnes SC

There is also talk of STA vs either John Curtis LA or Bishop Goreman NV. Apopka/Byrnes and Manatee/Gilman are both scheduled for ESPN. Miami Central/Don Bosco is a marquis match up I would think it will be telivised too.

The one that got my attention was Naples at Centerville, Ohio. I have a lot of relatives in Centerville and other towns in Montgomery County, Ohio.

Just found out the 3 Maryland/Florida games are a triple header. Don't know who is promoting it.

Venice is going national again huh!?!? Nice, hope the outcome is better than the last time they went to Virginia! But great publicity for our town and kids!

Checked their record last year. Plano East was not very good last year 5-4 with a 56-0 loss to eventual Texas State champions Allen TX. That game should be doable for Venice. That game is in Texas which is a big disadvantage though. Texas rules are different from every other state in the country. Seriously, they allow certain blocking schemes that are not allowed in other states. I do not know the details but I remember other schools that have played in Texas that were not happy about the different rule book.

Just looked up the rule differences. Texas plays by the NCAA rule book and the rest of the country plays by the National Federation of State High School Associations rule book.
The big difference is in Texas you can cut block anybody on the field at any time. There are other differences but that seems to be the one high schoolers from other areas have the most trouble with. Especially DBs who are not used to having their legs taken out from under them.

Really!!? Different rulebook? I'm going to check into that, that's actually interesting I have never heard that. Anyways, it seems like a doable game that would be nice to be able to get on national tv and pull out the W, we have been on 2 times and lost both, so getting on and getting a win out will be great opportunity for our players, who I think a lot go unrecognized as is.

That's great news for people who follow the national polls. Last year John Curtis backed into the title, not that they weren't a great team they just played nobody but Tampa Plant then a dozen of Louisana's weakest 2A teams. Kind of like the Gonzaga of high school football they played nobody with a prayer of beating them.
