Default Big Lineup with Prather at Small Forward

The Lineup with Prather at 3 and Young, Murphy or Yuegette at 4 and 5 seemed to really work well against Alabama. There might be a time or two in the tournament in which that lineup will be the right combination. Prather at 3 makes us stronger and more athletic.

It is a good lineup against the right opponents. I have always preferred NOT to go with 3 guards. Still Prather might still have some difficulties out on the perimeter, if he plays there a lot.

Yes, especially when Rosario is playing like he did today. The key is that we now have the flexibility to put multiple very different lineups on the floor throughout the game.

I agree. I just like the fact that Prather allows us to play a more traditional line-up, if the match-up calls for it.

Agreed Rosario was back to his old self today, hoisting up I'll advised shots and making a couple real bad passes, especially the one he had Wilbekin on a fast break and throws across court for Boyton out of bounds.

all about matchups and who is playing well or poorly. Prather had 24 minutes today, some days he can be just as effective in 12.

After spending the past several weeks being forced to go small due to Yuguete's injury it was refreshing to see us play big at times.

Think Rosario will be fine he's been consistent all year...I don't like the 3 of them on floor unless small team matchup calls for it

If there not all shooting 3 well go big with Prather or Yeguette

I agree that this is key. Recently, if the lineup wasn't effective, too bad. There was nothing else that we could use.

Like others have said, I like the flexibility that having Yeguete back gives us. And we should lay off Rosario. He is the reason we won games while Will was out and everyone else (mainly Boynton & Murphy) has been going through struggles.

I love the big line up (Prather/Murphy/Young; Prather/Yeguete/Murphy or Young). It sure beats looking at the 3-guard line up for 30+ minutes at a time. The big front-court line is especially helpful in getting baskets around the rim (with Prather hitting mid-range jumpers & lay-ups) and cleaning up rebounds - UF was giving up way too many offensive rebounds to Alabama today & in their last game against Tennessee!

Very early in the season, when Wilbekin was suspended... We saw wy, murph and pay on the floor together. I loved it.

It's sort of a perfect lineup with Murphy as the "stretch" 4. Prather is basically the prototypical college basketball SF IMO - in terms of size and athleticism. Maybe he doesn't shoot it ideally but he can keep people honest, and he is flat out dangerous when he gets a run at the basket.

Seems like when he gets going, he can really change the game on defense and turn that into points on offense. Definitely one of my favorite players, and an easy guy to pull for because he's been really unlucky this year with the concussions and whatnot. Seems like he's always sort of taken it all in stride and just does whatever is asked of him.

Just watching him his first couple years, he never really struck me as a guy that was a "transfer" risk (very few of the transfers over the years surprised me, alot of times you can see them coming a mile away..). Even though Prather came along slowly his freshmen year, just on what limited action I saw and how he behaved while waiting his turn it always looked like he had 100% the right attitude and then with his breakout performance at the end of last year, there was no way he was going anywhere.

I'd love to get Young back next year so we can run a Yeguete, Prather, Young group on the floor with Scottie and Frazier in the guard spots. That could be a devastating starting five. If we get Julius Randle, he could probably start working in immediately with Chris Walker and Devon Walker. We'd have the best two power forwards of 2013 according to rivals with Devon hopefully coming along a bit more to cover for Prather.

You seem to have forgotten Finney-Smith and Harris.

Well, I guess I'm hoping one of those guys steps up for Young. Randle (if we get him) or Chris Walker will potentially fill for Yeguete nicely, but I doubt either will be able to play center effectively as freshmen. I'm hoping Finney-Smith or Harris will step up in that capacity.

It'd be nice to be able to do a full rotation for bigger guys at SF, PF, and C as opposed to this year where it seems like we have no one who can really fill in for Pat and have to go 3 guards when we really shouldn't be.

I didn't really think his shot selection was that bad, in fact not at all. His lackluster passing and defensive effort was another story.

Think Chris Walker, taller and more athletic than Prather, who played great last night.
Kasey Hill will make us better at the guard position with his game, he will need to give some defense, but people are going to be chasing him all night when he plays. Both of these guys are upgrades to our team. If they don't start, it won't be long before the fans will be demanding it. Finney-Smith and Harris are going to be very good also. If we get Young back, a big if, I would love to have him as an enforcer with fouls to give due to Harris on the team.

Last night, Yuguete looked very tenative. I hope he can get back to his Rodman like ability. Next year can wait, but looking forward at the possibilities makes feel like someone picked up my bar tab. LOL
