7th Annual Gator Road Trip...
Just booked my flight for the Mizzou game on October 19th.
I will also be at the Gator game in Miami in September, but I live in South Florida so that doesn't count.
2012 - aTm - W
2011 - Auburn - L
2010 - BAMA - L
2009 - South Carolina - W
2008 - Arkansas - W
2007 - Kentucky - W
Is anyone else planning on going to Mizzou?
What are your favorite road trips?
I've heard great things about Ole Miss, LSU and Tenn. I had it planned out until 2017, but then expansion changed everything.

I'm proud of you for planning to make the trip to Columbia, Missouri. That is a very long road trip for Gators, maybe about 1,500 or so from Gainesville. I don't know but I would be very surprised if more than 1,000 Gators are there at the game.

Favorite true road game trip is LSU. While uga is at a neutral site, it still counts as a road trip (5+ hours) and I've been to every one in Jax since '79.
Been to LSU 4 times (4 wins), although, most of the trip is staying in the French Quarter, where Gators take over. Planning on going this year.

Not all Gators live in Gainesville. I think we'll be fine, particularly given the lack of enthusiasm for the Missouri football program in the last year or so.

I always try to attend one road game each year. I will be at Mizzou as well. Also, planning on going to South Carolina.
Would love to go to LSU, but can't go two weekends in a row.
I have a feeling this maybe the last time the Gators travel to LSU for awhile. Seems like there is smoke behind breaking up the cross division rivals.

That would really stink...We haven't been to LSU because we can count on them being a road game every other year.
South Carolina was really fun, but the stadium is sort of in the middle of nowhere. Good tailgating scene once you get there!

I would speculate that in addition to those making the road trip from the deep south that both the St. Louis and Chicago Gator Clubs will plan trips and most Gator fans in the midwest will make the trek. After all this is the first time to be able to see the Gator Football team close by in years and years and years.

Really? I bet we easily sell our allotment. Any new road trip brings out Gators in droves. Like A&M last year.

I'll be there. Art you staying in KC or St. Louis?
And I'm making the trek from JVille to Miami for the kickoff in September. We should have a large crew, can't wait!

I used to work in KC so I'm partial to that city a bit. I haven't decided where I'll be staying though, all depends on the kickoff time.

Have fun. It will be fun to hear your report. I have been to all or the SEC venues and the best is consistently LSU because of New Orleans. It is also has the most belligerent fans in the SEC. Ole Miss in Oxford is beautiful but, despite the awful location of the stadium, I have had a great time at USCe. The blackout game against us when SOS buried them was a blast. Their fans were hilarious after the game.

aTm is going to be really tough to beat. The fans were ridiculously nice. The city was awesome in terms of food/nightlife. Tailgating was off the charts. And we won!

No, of course I know that at all Gators don't live in Gainesville. I certainly haven't since I was a student at UF a long time ago. And just as I know that all Missouri fans don't live in Columbia. Just trying to use reference points on just how far Missouri is from Florida.
Missouri would have been a much better fit for the Big 10. Even most of their own fans thought that. But since they are in the SEC it's ridiculous they were placed in the SEC East. The SEC West would have made much more sense for them. Especially for their own students and fans. And their athletic teams. Time and travel expense for all of them would have been far more reasonable if they had been placed in the SEC West.

I doubt they'll be in the East much longer. That said, it's like 750 miles from Gainesville to Lexington, already too far to drive for most Floridians. And yet we somehow make it up there. I don't see any extra 45 minutes on a flight really being the difference.

Turnout for A&M only was our allotment. There were not much Gators in other sections of the stadium. I am guessing it was about 10% Gators.

Anywhere in the French Quarter. In the past, they've had busses to/from the game from the Quarter; made going to the game very easy.

Which is still 8,500 Gator fans.
