And so they would be totally unbiased in their reporting of a story that could prove devastating to their credibility?

You would have to call Tucker Carlson a lier. You might not like him but he has the reputation of being ethical. They are the ones that broke this story and all they are saying is that is not one of the prostitutes they interviewed and he is standing by his word.

I believe heavily in incentives. The Daily Caller could be destroyed by this story if it turns out to be false (the suit will be immediately forthcoming and they will likely lose their access to much of Washington). So when comparing somebody on the record against a person off the record as reported by a reporter with an economic incentive to deny the claims, one would think that most of us would lean towards the reports of the woman on the record.
This woman's story backs the FBI's findings in the case, which determined that nothing illegal happened involving prostitutes (previous claims by Daily Caller involve underage Prostitutes, which has been investigated by the FBI, who found no evidence). While Prostitution itself is not illegal (so the FBI did not investigate those claims), the entire DC story has pretty big holes.

I highly doubt Tucker Carlson is going to take part in a false story

You also have to remember that some have no proof yet still wildly level accusations and/or conjure up all types of baseless conspiracies.

Baseless? Two prostitutes said he paid them for sex. What is funny is a prostitute was drummed up as a pawn to say it was all a lie and she was never even part of the story. That is funny

I actually wasn't referring to your comments specifically, brotha...since like most of us here, we actually don't know the full story. I was, however, making a general point in response to DS's point, which is that standard of proof for which some people accuse others on here is often somewhere near non-existent.

Look guys...Menendez is a democrat, so unless he killed an underage prostitute "on camera" after having sex with her, he skates. And if he killed her by somehow running off a bridge late at night and she drowned, it doesn't count and he still skates. Don't we realize this by now?

"GOP Wrote Scripts & Found Prostitutes to Smear Sen. Menedez (D-NJ)"
Just another unsupported accusation from the same poster who falsely claimed that Marco Rubio's parents were illegal immigrants.

David Vitter, Mark Foley, John Ensign, Jim Gibbons, Dick Cheney, and Richard Armitage to name just a few pubs off the top of my head who have not been prosecuted in recent years for criminal activity or escaped serious punishment for some major ethical lapses.
Point is the problem is not about left/right but about how political power still protects politicians of both stripes from all sorts of ethical and legal transgressions yet the reflexive claim from many on the right is that pubs only get screwed.
I think there's something to the Mendez story and if he did engage in the behaviors alleged, he should be sh--canned and run the heck out of town. But that remains to be seen. On the other hand, the victim mentality is just whiny nonsense that undercuts thoughtful commentary.

The Washington Post mistook one prostitute for another Monday in a report that initially seemed to debunk a November 2012 Daily Caller exposé of New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez.
While the Post said it had an affidavit from a woman in the Dominican Republic admitting she fabricated claims Menendez paid her for sex, that woman was not one of the two prostitutes TheDC interviewed for a Nov. 1 report.
The Post identified the woman as 23-year-old Nexis de los Santos Santana.

which one of those is still in power let alone chairman of the senate foreign relations committee with the full support and backing of his party? Maybe I am wrong but it seems that all of them except tricky dick were expelled from their positions shortly after their transgressions were made public and none of them had cover from the lmsm.
which one had their transgressions basically ignored or buried on page A-34 by the MSM?
