How are you doing compared to fall 2008?

I know as mostly college grads here it's not necessarily a representative sample, but curious as to how everyone has fared over the last 4 1/2 years... Doesn't have to be anything too personal or specific.
For me I went through a pretty long unemployment after a layoff but ended up in a job that pays more and has a higher ceiling. Asset wise I did fine, so a mixed bag with a decent ending (at least I hope it's the ending). Wasn't the best 4 years but could have been much worse. As someone who has a decent skill set I can only imagine what it's like for unskilled workers, my time between jobs also definitely made me appreciate having one that much more so maybe some good came out of it.

No real change. My business (defending personal injury lawsuits) took off after the recession began. We were never as busy as we have been the last four years.
