The Real Bama Game MVP: The Fans
If you were at this game then you know what I'm talking about. We were dead in the water. Bama was up 45-37 and just stopped us again. As Bama came down the court with the ball the entire crowd got really loud and stayed loud the rest of the game (not just the students). Our players clearly fed off the raucous crowd the rest of the way on both ends of the floor. From the time the crowd took over until the end of the game we outscored them 27-7. Props to everyone that was there. We all deserve a game ball.

Well, I think we played a role for sure, but I don't think we were the MVP. I thought we were stale as a crowd for most of the game. It wasn't until the beautiful lob pass from Prather to Patric for a dunk that i sensed the crowd get into it.
I will go with Prather as the MVP.

It got nutty in there in the second half. A fun O'Dome this afternoon.

love the o'dome atmosphere for a gator game!
we are getting better (on the alumni side).
just like in the swamp, when things are going poorly, there are some gator fans that turn it up a notch!

This is the point the I was trying to make. Not that the fans were actually the MVP. But in my opinion the fans started the rally. It got really loud when Bama went up 8, had the ball, and our offense was still struggling. It seemed like the fans knew the team needed some help. Normally the fans get hyped up when the team provides a good reason. But if you were there you know that the team hadn't given the fans anything to cheer about, but the fans got loud anyway. Probably sensing that the game was getting away from our team. Then Prather threw the lob pass to Young and our offense took off from there.

Could hear some Alabama fan scream on the tv during our free throws during the first half. Kinda funny since it was one fan.

Yes, that was extremely annoying, and it went on during the first few times we had free throws. It stopped after that; I assume that she had a bag of popcorn or two thrown at her to let her know that she was perhaps unwelcome.

From watching TV, it seemed to me that when we got tied back up at I believe 47 all, the crowd then began to push the levels of support and the guys fed off it. Before this I am sure a lot of Gator fans were thinking why are Alabama players getting all the rebounds and loose balls. The players began to play with more intensity for sure. So I would think that you are probably right in saying they are the MVP of the game. If that is the case, we need them in Lexington and Nashville for all that motivating support and push.
I remember being in Winston-Salelm regional tournament game (NCAA) when Mike Miller drove the lane with a few seconds left and scored, the whole crowd was roaring for butler, but when Mike made the shot, about 50 Gator fans cheered. We would have stormed the court, but I think there were more policemen than Gator fans. LOL
The fans weren't the MVP that day. Yesterday, it helped. Glad you made it and we are in the driver's seat to win the SEC reg. season outright.

donovan mentioned in his quickie halftime interview that the gators' [team] play totally took out a perfectly good crowd. good for the gator fans in the o'dome to realize that the team needed us to get going. fortunately, the fan in the stands is different from some of the usual posters in the game thread who were ready to throw in the towel

I was sitting in the last row in section I and I heard her up there the whole game. Including when we were shooting free throws on the other end from her. She was sitting next to the fire jacket guy. My cousin and I were talking about her almost everytime we had a free throw. I told my him that guy should have brought his hose and rammed it down her throat instead of his jacket.
I actually think some noise helped our FT%. Dead silence would make me nervous.
