I have older versions of both Word(2003) and WordPerfect(ver 12). You can open a Wordperfect document in Word by:
Click on File
When drop down box shows Click on "Open"
An Open dialog box will open up
One of the lines at the bottom will show "file type"
Click on the down arrow and scroll down until you find various Wordperfect versions
Select file type
That should open the wordperfect file up then when in Word you can save it to a Word document.
BE SURE TO CHANGE TO EXTENSION SO YOU DON'T OVERWRITE THE ORIGINAL FILE!
I did this several times when our organization switched software.
Keep in mind this was several years ago, so newer versions may not have included this feature.
If this doesn't work, PM me and I will try to figure a way to help out a fellow GATOR
