he never had the speed to cut off the lane and then take it to the other side. IF he had gotten the steal, he would've just picked it up, squeezed it elbows out and dropped it to a PG.
There are less than 5 big men in the NBA who can make that play.
and for all of his supposed "awkwardness" I will again point out that not only are there perfect fundamentals within within certain aspects of his skill set. There are also fundamental necessities found within the awkard parts of his game which allow him to succeed.
For example. Noah is shooting basically 75% from the free throw line for the season and is at 73% for his career. Now considering how "bad" his fundamentals are....how the heck is he hitting at over a 50% clip of so many other big men?
heck, Noah is shooting FTs at a better clip than most forwards...including small forwards. Parsons is only shooting at 71% for the season.
Why?
certain basics are in place....even on the awkward stuff
