Good guy with a gun

The only way to stop a bad guy with a steak is a good guy with a gun. Thank god there was a good citizen with a CCW permit at Wal-Mart on Wednesday.

I own a few guns but have never taken the CCW class. Does it cover these situations?

Police arrested a central Florida man who shot at the car of a fleeing shoplifting suspect in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

Martinez told police he joined the chase. And when he couldn't stop Mckee, he pulled a 9 mm handgun and shot four times at the vehicle, saying he wanted to "mark the car" for police. Martinez has a concealed weapons permit.

He may be brighter than we are giving him credit for, his "mark the car" bit showed real creativity.

Gonna go with the "no good deed goes unpunished" philosophy on this one. Tried to help but unless you have a badge, a gun is only for impending harm and not creativity. Maybe next time he can bring a paintball gun to mark the perp. But I bet some lawyer would make him pay for the dry cleaning bill.

So you think it would be ok if a cop sprayed a fleeing shoplifter's car with bullets? That no one would have a problem with that?

The LA cops recently shot at several cars they mistook for holding a killer apparently without punishment
