Softball at USF (Wed 2/27)
USF just took the lead 1-0 in the bottom of the 4th on their 2nd home run of the season.
They started the season ranked #12 but are now unranked and 6-8 on the season (including 0-5 last weekend against pretty mediocre competition).
That said, their pitcher Nevins is one of the best in the country (when she is not being called illegal, anyways), so a 1-0 hole with 3 innings to go could be tough to climb out of.

We seem to always struggle against rise ball pitchers. Perhaps it's not surprising considering that that has not been a real strength of our pitching staff in recent years.

For freshmen, she and Stewart have been ridiculously clutch so far this season.

I think that shows just how big a piece Merritt is to this team. The offense struggled without her. Nice to have her back.
