We will have a near-healthy team Saturday and will blow the doors off Alabama.
And once again this bi-polar board will be in love with the team and its possibilities!

I hope so. There is a chance that Will and Mike will be back. Prather's status is unknown. Worst case scenario we could be down three players.

I'm as big a fan of this year's team as anyone, but I'm not handing us the SEC championship just yet.
Even assuming Yeguete plays against Bama, I don't what he'll be able to provide that soon. It may take a couple of games before he's back to speed. Have we heard anything about Prather?
And, I am amazed at how well UK has played after the loss of Noel. That will probably be a tough game.
It would be a bummer to let this SEC slip away, but I'm still more concerned about us being back to full strength by the NCAA Tourney than anything else.

I said it a couple of weeks ago, and I still feel the same way. If we beat Bama, we'll win the SEC.

We aren't losing to Bama at home. This coming from someone who refused to believe we would beat Tennessee. We just simply aren't going to lose or come close to losing to Bama. Period.

WY might be back, but he hasn't even had contact drills in practice yet
Best case is both Frazier and Prather are back, with WY with very limited minutes

So no.

UK may not win at Georgia either......that one is a toss up. Road teams have won less than 1/3 of their SEC games this year. Bama and Vandy have little chance of winning in Gainesville. Even if UK somehow won out we'd at worst be co-champs.

The SEC is way down this year. We should have ran away with it. When Billy is expected to win and go deep into the tourney(outside of 07) he loses and vice versa. When we don't expect much, he surprises. He seems to do better as an underdog.

I'm actually gonna go borderline-personality instead of bi-polar (reactivity of mood and black/white thinking at least), but either gets the point across...
Keep in mind that a few weeks ago many on this board were talking about this team rivaling the 04's, beating last years UK team, and sweeping its way through the SEC this year.
If you're never as good as you think, the good news is that you're never as bad as you think either. My guess is just like yours - that praises will be sung about this team again in the near future.

I agree.
I said it then... this is not a team to be comapred to our title team. That was a very, very unique and skilled team.
But, I still think.... especially considering there is no dominant team.... this year's squad can compete for the national title.

Not so sure we get a 2 seed unless we run the table from here on out: its hard to pick out any 1 seeds given the rapid churning of the polls this year but right now I'd put the following teams ahead of us in the seeding (1s or 2s):
Michigan, Michigan St, Indiana, Syracuse, Duke, Miami and Gonzaga- that would leave one spot.

Either Duke or Miami will lose again. The other teams, except Gonzaga, have been losing down the stretch.
It's very fluid and there is no one dominant team.

UK disagrees. We are one game ahead of them and have to play them at their place.

Had Yeguete stayed healthy, I think sweeping the SEC would still have been possible. I don't know about rivaling the 04s or beating UK last year.
He's not our best player and far from our most talented player. But he may be our most important player. He's the best rebounder on a team that's not great on the glass and he's also our most versatile defender. He's a game changer on the boards.

Beat Bama and UK and we at least share the title even if UK runs the table (which is unlikely becuase they play UGA and Arky on the road). The most likely scenario is the Gators will be two games ahead when they head for the season finale in Lexington.

We will win our games at home and we will lose on the road to uk. It's what we do of late. At uk we will take an early lead but will squander that lead in the last 5 minutes of the half. Second half, uk slowly pulls away and we lose by 6 or 8. We just need to hope that arky beats uk otherwise...

Not true. I just talked to UK and they told me that they're going to roll over and die. All we have to do is beat Bama!
