I've got news for you: both sides involved in government exert force on the unwilling.
I didn't want my tax dollars to go towards the Iraq War. Did I have any choice? No, I didn't.
The real world is more nuanced than your academic level of knowledge absolutes.

I'm still waiting for Burke to explain how his use of public schools, public roads, Medicare, etc., means he's not a parasite but everyone else is.

..and one presumes his university education partly paid for by laborers paying sales tax, and who will never sniff Tigert, Anderson, or Peabody.

I've explained all that.
Thirty million people supposedly couldn't pay for their medical care, so the govt creates Obamacare which forces everyone into a program in which the productive pay for healthcare for the unproductive as well as for themselves.
Of course, you could avoid it by going to Mars or something, so they aren't really violating your rights.
Same principle with all the other crap govt does.

I agree with you with one quibble. "Both sides" have nothing to do with it. This is a feature of government. It always has been. That is one big, big reason the founding fathers created a Republic, with three different branches. All confined by the constitution.
This tendency of government to exert force on the populace is a great reason to confine its scope and power.

If you are contributing to society in an fair and equitable monetary way, you are not considered a parasite for any benefits received. If you contribute little or nothing in the form of taxes and your benefits far exceed those of the norm, you are by any measure a taker. It can't be helped by some and that is ok, however those that plan and scheme to abuse the system are parasites.

People are not assets of society with an obligation to "contribute" to it.
They are individuals who exist for themselves and whose only responsibility to others is to respect their rights.

Like carrying much of the burden of providing you with a university education, something everyone pays for but only a very small number are able to take advantage of.

So I guess it's kind of "Sure, I take everything everybody else does. Even more since I use Medicare. But because I belong to the Rand cult, it doesn't count."
Just washes away all your sins, huh?

So if none of us feel like we're mooching by taking advantage of gov't services, its not really mooching then.

Lefties and people like them force productive people to provide things "for everyone." Then they look at the productive people and say, look at what "we" or "society" has done for you (with your own money) and claim that the productive people are parasites just like them for taking or using any part of the things they paid for. And that the productive people somehow owe even more.
Sort of like Obama claiming that the 50% of taxpayers who pay for everything are exploiting the other 50% who pay nothing.
Because the productive 50% who are paying for everything aren't paying their "fair share."
The thing to remember about lefties is that EVERYTHING lefties say and do is a rationalization for exploiting and destroying happy successful people.

Tell him I'll be happy to completely abolish public education.
I'm sure you will too.
Right.
Nope?
Notice how lefties are always portraying themselves as victims, one way or another.
They steal your stuff and let you have a little bit back. Then they scream that you are exploiting them and demand more.
All the while you were really screwing them.
Imagine that!

First, my parents sent me to college and paid enough there and taxes elsewhere to more than pay for what I got. I could have paid for the education for all three of my children st UF with income taxes I paid just one year.
Second, the education they gave me was mostly crappy, just like everyone there gets.
Third, I hated the place from the day I got there until the day I got out. (except for the Gators, of course)
Public schools have a near monopoly on the education system, gained by govt force and not competition. A (real) private school education would have been much better.
One of the worst mistakes I ever made was not homeschooling my kids.
A college public education today costs a fortune and completely sucks.
You are paying to be indoctrinated, not educated.

You'd be better off living on an island with a volleyball for a friend.
Cancel your Internet and go get shipwrecked.
