Missouri Game Box Score MVG: Casey Prather

Casey Prather had the best box score for the Gators but that was not enough to beat the Missouri Tigers who remain undefeated at home with a 63-60 victory over Florida. Prather scored 7 points, pulled down 7 boards with 2 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks to earn 71 value credits. Michael Frazier II only played 16 minutes but that was enough for him to score 10 points with 2 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals and no turnovers to give him 51 value credits. Scottie Wilbekin scored 8 points with 5 boards and 4 assists for 47 value credits.

The Gators appeared to have the game in hand at the beginning of the game and the start of the 2nd half but gradually faded at the end of each half with their 7-man rotation. Both Young and Murphy had off nights totaling 10 points and 6 rebounds between the two. The Gators were outrebounded by 9 boards and for one of the few times this season had more turnovers (14) than assists (10). The Gators only hit 6 of 12 freethrows while Missouri hit 12-15. The Gators were unable to defence Laurence Bowers who scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds. Bowers did not play in the game at Gainesville where Florida defeated Missouri by 31.

The Gators play next Saturday at home against Arkansas Razorbacks. Time for a pig fry.

Kudos to prather and really to mizzou for their prowess at home. Unfortunately, its guaranteed they'll play no home games in the tourney. So virtually no chance they'll win it.

This is where stats don't tell the whole story. Prather was too passive on the offensive end in this game and we were essentially 4 on 5.

They never do, but I still find these numbers pretty interesting after each game.

Bowers played well, but I think Pressey hurt us even more.

Yes, Phil Pressey hurt us, too. He's pretty impressive for a little fella. I loved watching his Dad play for the Milwuakee Bucks. Then Bucks Coach, Don Nelson, turned the 6'6" Paul Pressey into the NBA's first "Point Forward". It looks like his son inherited his ball skills if not his height.

Prather has to shoot when open. He has a horrible looking shot and sometimes misses REALLY badly but he was 2-5 from 3 last year and is 2-6 this year. Not great but obviously can hit them well enough that if he is WIDE open, he needs to shoot.

Yeah, they gave Prather a couple open looks around the free throw line and he wasn't even threatening to shoot.

Yes, and the two highest are subs. Looking at those numbers, especially those of the big guys, , it seems rather absurd to single out KB for the loss like many have done in multiple threads. Team loss.
