What's up with being a soft commit to a team yet saying another team is #1 or the leader? We have that on two recruits right now:

I'm a commit to FSU, but UF is my #1 team.

I'm a soft commit to Miami, but UF is my leader.

Seems to me either the reporter or the player is blowing smoke. This doesn't make sense to me. I can understand I'm committed elsewhere, but UF has given me a lot to think about. To me, neither of the above players should be considered a commit of any sort, soft or hard. That goes out the window when another team is listed as the leader or said to be their #1 team.

Its all about getting on board early and holding a spot. Then, if you like someone better, and they allow you to commit, you switch. Now, why they make their feelings or intentions public is beyond me. Fsu coaches acant be too excited.

Must mean they want to go to UF but we haven't offered yet.

Anybody want to speculate as to what Muschamp would say to this recruit if he had commited to UF but publicly came out that FSU was his number 1.

Another thing I found interesting is that one of those recruits didn't even know he had a Florida offer even though he has had one for some time.

How do you not know you have an offer?

it matters who the recruit was

It sounds nice to say this but I feel pretty strongly that he will if he needs to.
