Then there was Bama
As it looks the Tide are the only ones left who could challenge us for the regular season SEC title. With both Missouri and Kentucky losing today it makes it unlikely they will be in the race at the end of the season. No doubt it is still mathematically possible but unless the Gators stumble badly things are looking a lot more likely for them to clinch another title. Bama is the closest team as of right now sitting only two games behind Florida but they have to play both us and Ole Miss on the road yet. There's still lots of games to be played nevertheless you have to like our chances from here on out.

Do you know if players get a ring if they only win the regular season SEC or do they get a ring for winning the tournament SEC?
Also, how does the sports history book read in several years?...Let's say Florida loses in the SEC tournament and Bama wins the tournament but Florida wins the SEC regular season championship...then who can claim as being the true champion?
I would think winning the overall regular season is better for Florida. How they finish in the tournament is just for seeding. Right?

I'm pulling as hard as I can for the Gators to win and they just might win the conference.

In basketball, the SEC Champion is the regular season winner or winners. There are no tiebreakers........if two or more teams finish tied for first, they are all co-champions.

The SEC Champion is determined by the best record of the 18 game regular season schedule.
Period.
The tourney champ is not the SEC champion.

I'm pretty sure the SEC considers the regular season champion the official conference champion.

Also, the tourney has the added advantage of giving a team a chance to get in The Dance that might not have otherwise.
