Not that I know of. In fact, a portion of "my" fan base seems to be morally outraged at the very thought of one.

i don't think it has anything to do w/ morals; more like a business sense. they have trauma and EMT's on site and ambulances etc. w/in 2 miles is a world renowned medical facility.

I may not agree with Emmitto but I can't quite see how his belief there should be an x-ray machine at the O-Dome translates into him being a Kentucky fan. If it is just being done to insult him for his take on the matter then it is out of line.

I can only think of one useful reason to have the X-ray machine on site. If you want to put the player back in the game but want to make sure nothing is broken. Otherwise, take the extra couple of minutes to get the player to the hospital where he can actually get treated properly.

Yep, as I acknowledged way upstream. UF is not unique in that regard. Yet other places with the same setup have X-ray machines.
My "moral outrage" was just a poke at how defensive some are being over this. I had an X-ray at the Minidome at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN when I was there for a baseball camp as a HS'er in 1989. There are about three hospitals within a few minutes, including a VA hospital a couple of minutes away. Now at that time they did play football there, but obviously non-football facilities have them too.
I got hit on the hand by a rogue pitch from a machine. Got X-rays, negative, wrapped it, went right back to camping.
To recap, I simply said I was surprised to learn there wasn't one in the O-Dome, while also saying that Noel undoubtedly received proper care.
So unless an X-ray machine got busy with (generic) your sister, there's really no "need" to pretend the whole concept of having one in the building is so outlandish. And I would hope the logistical nightmare of having someone around that can operate it (and printing up new programs!) can be solved, perhaps using some of the cutting edge management practices UK is using now or ETSU used in the late 80's.
Alternatively, continuing to go to Shands, as it is now, seems reasonable, and I'll continue to be surprised that there isn't an X-ray machine in the actual playing venue. I'll also be on the lookout for an announcement about renovations that include one, and will enjoy the same posters who are so disgusted with the idea to magically warm up to it.

What good would x-rays do? They are not therapeutic but diagnostic. Silly.

Well, thanks Hall. I'm not concerned with the Cat Fan label. If anyone really cares I invite them to check my non-Too Hot posting history (and you are free to check that too, if you hate life). It's not like the screen name isn't enough of a hint (Emmitto isn't my real name--I chose it due to a certain former Gator, although I don't want to ruin the subtlety by revealing which one...)

Jam your hand. Hurts like hell. Get it X-rayed. Negative. No risk of further damage. Pain subsides enough to play. Team needs you. Go back in.
That's how they're commonly used all over this great land on game days. No one else here has ever had an X-ray and then continued playing? Even heard of such a thing?

I agree with the nurse. If you have a game in YOUR coliseum, you should be prepared with paramedics ready to do whatever is necessary to eliminate serious problems. I see it even as a liability thing. What the heck! Especially, in basketball, if the other team has a player down, your trainer should ask what he can do to help,,,,,LIke CALL the paramedic, etc. Seems common sense and courtesy to me. I also see the expense, but goodness, your talking about multi-million dollar careers here. If MY young'un was hurt in a place like this I'd want the best immediate reaction care available. EVEN if you have a hospital on campus, have a means to get them off the court, into a evac vehicle and outa there immediately. Of course, the trainer may have wanted some time to eval himself so I can't say much more because I don't know particulars. All of this may have been available.

There were paramedics available. An ambulance is parked outside of the ODome for every game. They pushed Noel out of the stadium in a wheelchair. What you are complaining for was actually done. Non-issue.

I don't think it is outrageous to suggest that we could get some use out of an x-ray machine at the O-Dome in some situations. It obviously would not have been useful for Nerlens Noel. There was no consideration to put him back into the game so the best option was to send him directly to the hospital, even if we had an x-ray machine there.

I apologize for the misunderstanding, I thought from the phrasing of your comments that you were a Kentucky fan.

Not offended, it's just not needed and there isn't a ton of logic behind the demand. We could just knock the ODome down and rebuild it as a wing of Shands.

There should be an xray machine on every corner of campus. Three at the odome. And at least ten at BHG.
Unfortunately, in Noel's case, xray didn't show anything, so an mri was required to find the injury.

You know...they should have rolled the x-ray/MRI machine to mid-court yesterday...ESPN would have loved that...
C'mon...he received proper care...his ACL was due to hitting the basketball hoop/stand and not due to the fact he was carried off by UK players...
I thought I saw the UK trainer get a bit pissed at a UF trainer coming to the aid of Noel...if someone has it taped...please check...

Thanks for your rational post, Hall.
Rational.
Now that's a philosophy not demonstrated as often as we'd like to see on talk forums.
And trust me, even GATORS are guilty making non-rational statements.
I don't hold anything against a program as a whole by what is posted on talk forums by certain disgruntled keyboard assassins.
YMMV.

A tunnel, with a Speed Tube, would probably do.
Where is this demand you speak of coming from? Once again, I'm simply surprised there isn't one already there. It's a luxury, not a necessity. Shands is a perfectly practical solution. Noel's ACL would be blown if he had actually landed six inches away from an X-ray machine, the entrance to Shands, or a surgeon. But some here don't seem to understand why so many sports venues have X-ray machines, even ones close to full-blown hospitals. They have obvious utility.
We all know that one at Rupp is as much about recruiting/bragging rights/opulence as utility. Maybe even more about the former. Yet there it is, and in the SEC facility arms race, UF doesn't get one-upped often.
I predict one shows up in an upgrade/renovation in the near future. And Shands will still be there. Need is only one factor. Next thing you know, they'll be putting leather recliners in front of multiple big screens with XBOX's and calling it a "lounge." Now that would be crazy!

I agree.
I don't agree with him either but that's over the top. In fact, those posts made me do double take to make sure I had seen the VIP badge under his name, hehe.

This year, UK fans at Rupp gave the Texas AM player who just beat UK by scoring 40 points a standing O. I've seen them do it for injuries as well. It'd be pretty classless not to.
