And the next day there would be UK fans on a message board saying:
Why did UF waste so much time taking x-rays at that high school gym of theirs? There's a hospital with state of the art equipment just a mile down the road. If it was one of their players he would have been rushed to the hospital immediately instead of having a tech look him over first.

What a ridiculous thread. And why would it be necessary to have an X-ray machine at the athletic facility? Would you then need to have them at ALL athletic facilities on campus? Of course not. There is a first rate hospital ON campus. Enough said. Ignore ignorance. And ignorance is what a few Kentucky fans are mouthing about this unfortunate injury.

yeah - an X-ray machine is definitely not needed at the arena.
It's not like you'll take the X-ray and get the results back in a minute -- "it's not broken, get him back in the game!"
If it's a serious in jury, the player is at Shands in 5 minutes.

Would he be any less injured if we had x-ray equipment in the dome?

You have to realize that many Cats fans worship their players and treat them as prima donnas. They lost and these fans are not nice when they get beaten like a drum! I remember back in the day when Rupp's Runts came to town with Pat Riley at center and Louis Dampier at guard. I had a fraternity brother, Tommy from Owensboro, Ky. All he could see was Kentucky Blue. His dad was a big time Kentucky booster. Prior to the game I told both he and his father who had flown in for the game that the Gators could beat the Celtics in old Florida Gym.Tommy laughed and I made a bet that we would win. Well we easily upset the Cats. Tommy paid me but for weeks you would have thought someone in his family had died.

Willis Magahee and Marcus Lattimore are two examples. But the first reason is why we see so many of these types of injuries during non-contact football practices every season.
Clearly, running into the basketball hoop support did not cause his knee to hyperextend, and simply banging into the support would not cause this type of injury. This happened right when he landed from his attempted block of Rosario's layup, plain and simple.

Espin has a CLEAR sidecourt video of his knee buckling on landing awkwardly, but they rarely show it for some dumbazz reason. I saw it in slo mo on Lebatard?? today at 3:30pm. on the deuce.

Some of you are really offended that I don't find having an x-ray machine on the spot where bones might be broken CRAZY!!
Does UK have a hospital where one could get an X-ray if they were injured at, say, Rupp?

I did. I still cannot agree with you. 5 minutes down the road and they are at one of the premiere hospitals in the region. I absolutely do not see the need for it.

They probably aren't "needed" at most sports facilities where they exist. I imagine a hospital that is fully capable of providing an X-ray is within single digit minutes most of the time.
So if a player is at Rupp, needs an X-ray, how long would it take to get to a machine? At Good Samaritan, say?

X-ray is useless. An MRI is what Noel needed. Diagnostic machines are useless in a stadium.

I think Pete Indelicato should have been scrubbed and standing at the UK bench, scalpel in hand in the event some Cat player ever needed his services.

Noel needed an MRI. Do y'all have one of those too at Rupp?

We're talking about having an X-ray machine at a basketball facility whether Noel is there or not. But at least you seem to see where this is headed.

An X-ray machine at the O'Dome would be a huge waste of money.

So prior to a couple of months ago, when UK installed an X-ray machine at Rupp, was your fan base outraged that you did not have one?

I personally have come into contact with KY fans who said injuring Tebow was a moral victory.
Crappy fan base all around.
