Just trying to recall how quickly the Kentucky folks rushed to Tebow when he was motionless on the field?
Oh wait...

The criticism is not at all justified. Gator fans were in shock and stunned silence at the obvious potential severity of Noel's injury. As others have said, all fans - Rowdies included - stood and applauded when Noel left the court AND when his teammates returned.
I was sitting on Row 1 behind our team, so I was near the basket where it happened and immediately across from the students. Any claims of our students, or any Gator fans for that matter, being anything other than respectful are simply untrue. Could there have been a single voice among the crowd somewhere that uttered something inappropriate that someone overheard? Sure. But I am here to tell you nothing offensive was collectively emmitted from the crowd, and in fact the opposite was true: the crowd was gracious, genuinely concerned and they expressed it tastefully. The same cannot be said of the Kentucky fans when Tebow was injured on their turf.

I do find it odd that a premier BB power lacks an X-ray machine on site. I don't know if that's common elsewhere or not. And carrying him off, as opposed to putting him on a stretcher or wheelchair or cart or whatever, seemed a little rudimentary.
But even with that, I doubt he got substandard care. And I know the fans reacted appropriately as a whole.

You know that Shands...a top trauma center in Florida is literally around the corner? Why would the Odome need a X-ray machine?

Frazier obviously fouled Noel's elbow with his face, it was plain as day. As far as any Kentucky fans critical of UF for anything related to this injury I would love to hyper extend your butts' with my foot!

And yet UK fans are saying it's all UF's fault.
As someone else said, I hope Noel isn't seriously hurt and can recover quickly, but screw UK and most of their pathetic fans. I'm sure all of those same people were wondering where all the UK help was for Tebow as he laid unconscious on their field. Oh nevermind, they were all too busy celebrating.

You will not hear any statement from UF on the treatment and response to the injury because to those actually involved, there is no issue.
If UF responded to every idiotic response from opposing fans it would be a full time job.
Any complaints yet from UK staff? I haven't heard any.

I went to UK board. Almost all posters approved of the way we handled Noel. There are a few nuts on every board.

I do. Many facilities have a premier hospital close by, or at least one with an operational X-ray machine. I still find it odd that there isn't one in the next room where future NBA millionaires regularly play. I'm not outraged or anything, and as I stated I'm confident he received proper care. And for all I know this is standard.

The lady that said she was a nurse and that his knee would be injured more because they didn't stabelize it what an idiot...my brother in law is a physical therapist and older brother is an athletic trainer and I have seen them carry many kids off the field without putting the kids leg in an air cast or immobilizer. It cannot hurt the knee any more because when the kid gets to the sideline the trainer or therapist is going to do several tests on the knee to see if it is torn or not. Wouldn't that hurt the knee more than someone carrying the kid off? Neither one will because the damage is already done. The only way the kid could hurt it more would be by going out there and trying to play again. This is the reason why you don't go to a general physician or nurse when you get hurt playing a sport...they have no idea what they are talking about. Sorry that lady just pissed me off

Probably most KY fans know that we were classy. The ones that would complain just aren't very smart.

I don't really think of x-rays being needed on site much if ever for basketball players but for football players.
And again, Monday eve I saw the exact same thing at an NBA game. A Celtic player collapsed and held his knee in pain. Only Celtic med staff attended. Then Celtic players carried him off the floor. And then I said.... why no wheel chair.
So I think Gotham is correct. That's the protocol for tending to and removing and injured player in all of basketball.

Shands is only a few minutes away so it doesn't make any sense to have an xray machine at our sporting events. It not just the machine, but technicians on standby, etc.

That fan base has some of the most moronic elements f any fan base in college sports. And that is saying something, given the behavior of some FSU and Bama fans.

What? Crazy delusional UK fans talking about things they know nothing about?
Good job they didn't post on Too Hot where people would actually take their rantings seriously.

I don't. Shands, one of the best facilities in this side of the country, is one mile away.

This quote may find itself posterized somewhere. smh.
Show of hands, who here would rather Billy D or a trainer Xray their critical injury, and who here would rather take a golf cart 5 minutes to Shands and have the premier orthopedists and radiologists in the state be responsible?
It will be hard to take anything you say in the future seriously after this.

The latest criticisms in that thread are blaming the O'Dome saying that it is little more than a high school stadium and that the basket supports are too close to the court and that's what caused the injury.

Seems like we should.

Some ambulance chaser attorney needs to get right on that! It's beneath a world class defense attorney!
