Noel injury update
USA Today sports writer said it was a hyperextended leg & Patrick Young said "...knee looked dislocated."

Hyper extension would probably be the 'best' scenario at this point considering how it looked right? (I know the best scenario would be no injury).

Lordy! Hated to see him in such pain. Sure wish him the best, he's an excellent athlete and I understand he's a good guy generally. Lets hope for teh best for the young man and put him in prayers.

That would be pretty bad. Recovery time for those is usually pretty long, isn't it?

Went to do some reading on patella tendon rupture and found this:

Typically the injury involves an awkward landing from a jumping position where the quadriceps muscle is contracting, but the knee is being forcefully straightened
|
That pretty much sums up his landing. Bummer if true.

Yeah, I was reading to find more about it and it would be a long road for him. Sucks.

I really like watching Noel. He's a dynamic shot blocker and has a real feel for court position. It would be a shame if he lost the rest of the season and I certainly wish him a full recovery.

Do guys usually scream that much and feel that much pain from a hyperextension? I would think something like a dislocation would be more likely, but I'm not a doctor and I've never had anything like that happen to me.

I was told..mind you by someone with no medical knowledge... But near the scene after he was carried off court, that it looked like knee was dislocated.

If anyone is bothered by the pic feel free to delete it and just leave the link. I know this can bother people sometimes.
It certainly looks painful to me. I'm no medical expert, but is it possible that a dislocation can happen and look this bad, yet there not be extensive injury after its popped back in? A "florida insider", according to some UK people, has mentioned hearing that its a torn patellar tendon - although other media are doubtful anyone could knwo this for sure yet. The school just put out a statement saying there will be no further news tonight.

That would explain why he was screaming in pain for so long. It is my understanding that this is a VERY painful injury.
God's speed. Hope he returns soon at 100 percent.

So question: before injury he's the #1 in draft probably. With injury, does he still go with an nba team taking chance, or does he stay?
