I suddenly had a Senior moment (in reverse). I think the name of the little Italian restaurant I was trying to remember was called Vito's..Can any Lakelanders confirm this?

Vito's was an Italian restaurant in Lakeland for decades, but it is no longer in business. Mario's was a great Italian restaurant, but it was sold and re-branded as La Porta Rossa at Mario's. It's decent, but pretty pricy for what you get. Not nearly as good as Mario's.

Texas Cattle Company is probably the best non-chain restaurant in Lakeland. After Cattle Co, Bay Street Bistro is pretty good.
