Doesn't the football scholly always take precedence? I could be wrong, but I don't think he would even count towards basketball.

Anyway if this kid was a DII basketball prospect - he would basically be a walk-on type player at UF. It's kind of silly to even suggest he would get 5-7 minutes. Especially when UF could be pretty loaded in the front court next year. He might not even be ahead of Kurtz, who has actually showed a little bit of game already for a walkong. I think we should always have a couple of decent walkons, so it would be interesting to see it happen (especially if he got it done in the weightroom). I seriously doubt it would even be considered though...

We at minimum have 4 bigs scheduled for next year (2 Transfers, Yeguette, Chris Walker).

If Young comes back, or we land another big time recruit, we are absolutely STACKED. Billy D has already addressed it. Now obviously that can change due to injuries, discipline, NBA, etc. But on paper he has MORE than addressed our depth, and if we things actually work out with Young or Randle (or another recruit) then it would be an absolutely nasty front court. But at minimum, the "depth" issues seem to be addressed (and I didn't even mention Devon Walker... who perhaps can really hit the weight room in the offseason and become another legit option at 3/4).

In either case, adding a player like this really doesn't change anything for our depth. Most likely, he would not even be an option other than perhaps balancing out scrimmage teams in practice.

He is quite agile for his mass, but he looks a lot more like a football player than a roundball player.

Trevon Young wouldn't be getting minutes even now.

I hope Patrick comes back but that's a big if.
Knees and ankles, they take a beating over long seasons as we have found out once again.
We go into next season with a player who hasn't made a whole season in the last two and the Transfer Harris with a shoulder injury. If Patrick doesn't come back we are back to hoping everyone plays without getting hurt. Not realistic. We need another big unless Billy has spoken with Patrick and silently he said he is coming back. Randle I don't get the warm and fuzzy feeling with him coming aboard, so he we stand with going into next year with a lot of unknowns. If we had another recruit we would have the luxury of not worrying about Patrick or injuries. Waiting on Pat or Randle has the Gators in the hold position once again. We need another big!

We already have Harris, Walker, and Yeguete lined up for next season. Young appears to be leaning towards coming back. Even if he doesn't, we won't be thin. Although DFS was recruited to play SF here, he could definitely play some PF in a pinch. He's 6'9" and a good rebounder.

No, we don't "need" another big for next season. It'd be a nice luxury, but it's not needed.

Well,

1. Trevon Young will be bulking up to play football not getting in basketball shape. That is he will be trying to add good weight not keep weight off and build but endurance for basketball.

2. If Cornelious Ingram who tried could not contribute to a Donovan basketball program while staying in football shape is will take an unusual player to do so.
