Two years in a row...
#1 class in the state
#1 class in the SEC-E
Top 3 class nationally
We're never going to be without talent with Muschamp at the helm. Now we just have to OVERCOME THE ADVERSITY ON THE FIELD and start beating the snot out of uga again and everything will be right with the world.

He is definitely more of a "volume" recruiter than what you find at some other schools, but that is largely because he has so much confidence in the staff's ability to develop players. Love both the quality and the quantity.

I think he's had to bring volume in due to defections from the previous regime, among other reasons.
We won't be signing 25-30 annually, but needed a couple large classes to get back at/near 85.

One of the great moments of the season. Love that!
RayUF, we're still a little shy of 85 and I know CWM wants us there. I'd expect 25+ for a couple seasons.

I think we will continue to recruit volume to me thats the only way to truly do it. You recruit these kids and tell them this scholarship is yours to keep if you earn it. Work hard on and off the field be a good citizen grow to be a good young man we have no problems. If you dont conform there is a senior in HS that I can replace you with. As long as kids and their character remain in good standards with WM then we have no problems otherwise. GET OUT

Yep, recruit volume.
There will be enough knuckleheads, transfers, and medical issues to open up space down the road.

We might become a bit more selective once we're fully geared up, what we're doing now is more of a Texas approach.

Here's what I like; four DTs, two DEs that can move inside, six OL, counting transfers, five WRs, three of whom are 6'2" or taller, two RBs, both over 210, Five LBs, three of whom are already on campus. Did I forget something? Oh yea, the best DB class in the country. This class gets us closer to Bama, possibly even pulling us even.
Here's what else I like, and it's what I was wishing for yesterday. We got exactly the players we needed today. We may have missed on guys we wanted, but we needed two more DTs more than we needed any one player at any other position.

We may be getting close to Bammer-type classes, but Bammer still had a higher rated class than we did, but the gap is closing.
If I were to nitpick, wish we had more DEs that will stay at DE.

Strange nailed it right on the head with that last post.
Btw, just got back from running errands in tally and you should hear the nolies crying about their class.

I think the other side to this is that you have to put two classes together to see what the roster will look like. One class only fills a certain amount of projected needs, but two classes give you an idea how the roster shapes up 2-3 years from now.
Not including JUCOs/transfers, this is what the group looks like:
QB: Mornhinweg, Staver
RB: Jones, Taylor, Lane
WR: Andrades, Pittman, Robinson, Fulwood, Bailey, Hawkins, Thompson
TE: Taylor, Thompson
OL: Humphries, Dunker, Johnson, Jackson, Dillard
DT: Williams, Brantley, Bostwick, Riles
DE: Fowler, Bullard, McCallister, Cox, Ivie, Sherrit
LB: Morrison, Powell, McMillan, Anzalone, Rolin, Davis
CB: Poole, Hargreaves
S: Maye, Ledbetter, Harris, Neal, Washington
That is a pretty stout roster. There are some slight number issues at CB, OL, and TE, and we need some marquee signees at QB and DL next year (we have a good start with Grier and Valentine) to fortify things going forward, but with the JUCOs/Moore/Garcia in the mix, I don't see many gaping holes in 2014-2015.

They had a higher rated class, that included 4 highly ranked RBs, which will boost a ranking significantly, since the rankings are geared mostly to skilled players. Most likely, only one or two will rotate with Yeldon. The other two will probably be told to transfer once a couple of more are brought in next year. There can only be eleven on the field at a time, and I think we will be able to match up pretty well.

Kind of what I really like about Muschamp. No necessarily the "ready, fire, aim" thought process of recruiting a ton a kids knowing some won't work out, but rather in Mack Brown's hay day at UT, he had his classes sealed up VERY early in the process. A few defections, but not many. A few late minute kids, but not many. Identify the kids you really want and get them on board and TRULY committed and then work on the handful of kids you would like to have if everything works out.
That really seems like what we saw today. A ton of great talent committed early (including some that committed that ended up elsewhere because they couldn't make the grades), a few that are natural leaders to keep the rest together, and finish with a couple of the best players targeted out of the handful who were in if they so chose to be.
Great recruiting season. When is junior day????

Our DT class this year was very, VERY impressive and Reed and Cummings especially can add immediate depth. These guys have made us competive with Bama's physical ground game style.

A shame we won't play them next year since we'll be facing A&M in Atlanta.

I am very impressed with the holes that WM filled. IMO, we did better than any other school out there in accomplishing this.
