I completely agree with you. I am really excited about getting Demarcus Robinson, but Alvin Bailey has the skills to make a name for himself in G'ville.
I agree, which is why i found it so weird that at the beginning of the cycle it seemed like the coaching staff was a little skeptical of offering him. Oh well, they know more than we will ever know, and he's a Gator now, so it all worked out in the end.

It was weird... Coaches wanted him to visit, before we offered to gauge his interest and it seemed like he was doing anything he could to not visit. Once he visited and Rodney Adams left (by the way what happened to him), he got his offer and didn't look back

They wanted him to come to camp like all of the players. The staff was only going to sign one slot guy and they wanted to make sure they got the right kid. They told Reggie Davis to also come to camp. Bailey's high school coach's son is a coach at UCF and they were def doing some things to get him there IMO. Bailey was not as high on a lot of teams boards as most around here would like to think. The staff also knew if he ever got an offer he would accept it so they waited until the last possible second to make sure he was the right fit. Adams signed with Toledo over WVU I think. His grades were bad thats why he "decommitted" I liked Adams a lot he was great at anything but he was real good at everything.
I liked your post a lot with the exception of your negative comment on Staver. Give the kid a break and give him a chance. Calling the kid a stinker is very nole like...disgusting!
I didn't mean for it to come off as the kid being "a stinker." I actually really like him in the interviews i have heard, and as i said in my post i believe that he has a strong arm and good physical potential. But if you saw him play this year, you would have to agree that he needs a lot of work on his mechanics, as im sure he would agree.
Im the one that said he stunk in the game he played on ESPN. He didn't play well at all. I hope he's a sleeper. From the limited film/game that I've watched of him he wasn't impressive. Doesn't he play against lower-level competition in a state not known for its football?
I hope the kid becomes special but as we all know, UF missed out on several kids they had rated higher than Staver.
I'm sure there is video of Staver showing good mechanics, but when i saw him play a full game this year, his footwork and overall inconsistent mechanics are what stood out to me. That and the fact that he has a very strong arm. Once again, i am not trying to bash the kid, just trying to say, as with all recruits, he has to show major improvement to see the field at a top level program.
Absolutely great class - thanks gatordude (can I call you El Duderino?)
Not a ham n' egger in the bunch. If Muschamp's talent evaluation skills hold up like they did last year (which were phenomenal), we're going to have sick depth by 2014.
This class was outstanding. But for me, the exciting thing to see is how quickly the coaching staff is already filling in any short comings in this years class with the 14 prospects. Didnt get the qb we wanted in 13? Come on down Mister Grier, 2014 qb. Check. Defensive end/pass rushers? They are working hard already with the likes of D Ware and Dashawn Hand being recruited. These Coaches are getting it done!

Go Gators
Maybe you just caught a bad game. Looks pretty smooth to me here. Maybe not Swiss-watch consistent, but compact mechanics, quick release, etc. Does throw off the back foot a bit. But gets the ball where it's supposed to go, as evidenced by 62.5% completion rate and 18:5 TDick rate.
I have to say I feel better about him after watching the attached film. He seems as if he can make all the throws along with having a quick release. Pretty agile for a big kid. I didn't take notes but I think 100% of the throws in the highlight video were from shotgun. That's something he'll have to work on. After watching this video I'd rate him high C+!

Yes, I had a look at the video yesterday as well and what I see is quite promising. Mushamp found a good one. Morningweg is no slouch either and comes with great coaching pedigree.
Starver's mechanics are all over the place. People put their best work on their highlight film not their worst and even in that film you see flaws. Game film tells a better story for a QB. I have a feeling Starver might end up like J Reed for totally different reasons.

This is completely correct. We should start praying now that driskel doesn't go down. We will be in trouble. I do think though that staver works hard, he's got a lot of potential. Definitely not a guy that should see the field next year though.

I might stop watching the games if Driskel goes down. Starver has zero chance of seeing the field next year.

We're watching game film ... and telling you you protest too much.
